When planning a service to honor someone you love, it can be helpful to understand the different options available. While each one provides an opportunity to remember and honor a loved one, they can look a little different.

Funeral Service – Typically held soon after a death and may include the presence of the casket. It often provides a time for family and friends to gather, share memories, and offer support.

Memorial Service – A gathering to remember and honor a loved one that may take place with or without the presence of the casket. It can be held days, weeks, or even months after a passing.

Celebration of Life – Often focuses on the unique life, personality, memories, and meaningful moments of the person who has passed. It can be as traditional or personalized as the family chooses.

There is no single right way to honor a loved one. The most meaningful service is one that reflects their life and what matters most to your family. ❤️

Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day. Let's remember that taking care of our mental and emotional well-being matters especially during times of grief and loss. Grief can affect every part of us, and there is no single “right” way to grieve. Give yourself permission to feel what you’re feeling, take things one day at a time, and reach out for support when you need it. Sometimes, taking care of yourself means talking with a friend, spending time with family, joining a grief support group, or seeking professional support. You don't have to walk through difficult seasons alone. 💚

Grief can make even everyday tasks feel overwhelming. During difficult seasons, remember that taking care of yourself is not selfish it’s part of caring for your whole well-being. Here are a few simple reminders:
1. Give yourself grace. Grief doesn’t have a timeline, and every day may look different.
2. Take care of your body. Try to eat, drink plenty of water, get some rest, and take a short walk when you can.
3. Stay connected. Reach out to a trusted friend, family member, or support group. You don’t have to go through grief alone.
4. Make space for your feelings. It’s okay to cry, talk, be quiet, or simply take things one day at a time.
5. Do something that brings you comfort. Listen to music, spend time outside, look through photos, or honor your loved one in a meaningful way.
Be patient with yourself. Healing takes time. ❤️

Today, we celebrate the grandparents who have filled our lives with love, wisdom, stories, and memories that stay with us long after they’re gone. For those lucky enough to still have their grandparents, take a moment to call them, visit them, or simply let them know how much they mean to you. And for those whose grandparents are no longer here, may today be a reminder of the love they gave and the memories they left behind. Their influence continues to live on in the generations they helped shape.
