🌿Releasing Head + Neck Tension 🌿

In Japanese Meridian Therapy, we can work with the Gallbladder (GB) channel through the scalp and behind the ear to help regulate tension, stagnation, and excess heat.

Teishin is a small, non-insertive Japanese acupuncture tool used to gently contact and stimulate the skin and acupuncture points—without penetrating the skin. Its subtle stimulation can help regulate the meridian system, encourage relaxation, and support the body’s natural flow and balance.

By combining GB channel work with gentle Teishin on local neck points, we can help the neck and head soften and release, supporting relief from neck tension, headaches, and that feeling of heat or pressure rising into the head, which are the symptoms addressed today. ✨

Thank you to Rosie Ettinger for allowing me to demo this technique.

Life has been lifing. Taking a necessary pause with my sweetheart and pup. We are on our way to celebrate with our friends who will be getting married in Canada. We decided to make this a long road trip in our little casita travel trailer.

I almost cried when we got to the top of The Going to the Sun Road. This was one of the most beautiful hikes. This is what life’s all about. Be present. Enjoy the wonders this Earth offers. Hold the ones you love close. Be Grateful.

I’ll be back in the office mid August. See you soon!

One of my favorite techniques I’m learning as a student of Chinese Medicine is Japanese rice grain moxibustion.

Recently, I’ve been learning and practicing moxibustion for the eight points on the lower back, a traditional treatment taught in Dr. Hara’s lineage of Japanese acupuncture.

The treatment involves placing tiny, rice grain-sized cones of moxa on each of these eight points and briefly igniting them to create a precise, gentle heat stimulus. Even though the cones are incredibly small, the therapeutic effect can be surprisingly powerful.

In Japanese acupuncture, this treatment is used to support the body’s natural healing processes by helping regulate Qi and Blood, improving circulation, strengthening constitutional energy, and promoting nervous system balance. It’s commonly used as part of a broader treatment approach for people experiencing fatigue, chronic conditions, low vitality, or recovery from illness.

I’ve been fortunate to learn this traditional technique, and l’ve been incorporating it into treatments with clients. It’s been fascinating to see how such a subtle therapy can have such a meaningful impact.

One of the things I love most about East Asian medicine is that healing doesn’t always require a big intervention-sometimes the smallest, most intentional treatment can create profound change.

Have you ever experienced rice grain moxibustion? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I first began studying traditional Thai medicine, and now, as I’m in school for Chinese medicine, I’ve found myself even more inspired by Tok Sen.

It’s fascinating to see how these two ancient healing systems approach the body differently while sharing such similar principles.

In Chinese medicine, we work with meridians—channels through which Qi and blood flow. In traditional Thai medicine, Tok Sen works through what are often described as the body’s “ditches” or energy pathways, using rhythmic vibration to help release stagnation and restore movement.

I love seeing how two different traditions can speak to the same wisdom in their own unique language. It’s a beautiful reminder that there are many ways to help the body find balance, and each system offers something profound to learn from.

Thank you to Rosie Ettinger for being my Tok Sen Model. 🔨

Warmth has long been regarded as an essential therapeutic principle in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

During this treatment, gentle fire cupping is applied over acupuncture points such as REN 3 (Zhongji), ST 29 (Guilai), and the Liver channel, each selected for its traditional role in regulating the uterus, warming the lower burner, and promoting the smooth circulation of Qi and Blood. From a modern perspective, this gentle negative pressure also increases superficial blood flow, supports fascial mobility, and encourages relaxation of the abdominal wall and surrounding soft tissues.

When paired with intentional abdominal massage, the treatment creates space for the tissues to soften, the breath to deepen, and the pelvis to receive warmth. In Chinese medicine, restoring warmth and movement is often an important step in supporting a healthy menstrual cycle and overall pelvic well-being.

Every treatment is individualized, because the same symptom can arise from very different patterns. The medicine is never just about where we treat—it’s about understanding why. 🔥🌿

Thank you to Rosie Ettinger for being my model.

Being a business owner is wild because I thought I signed up to be a Massage Therapist… turns out I also accidentally applied to be:

• a biller
• a marketer
• a manager
• a (very questionable) carpenter
• an interior decorator with vibes only
• a part-time counselor
• a plumber (against my will)
• and a serial plant killer 🌱💀

Like… when did this become a full cast production??

Anyway, please enjoy these before & after pics of me learning how to lay vinyl planking with my brother, who deserves some kind of medal for patience.

My amazing partner, , already carried the “team” by doing all the treatment rooms this summer, and I figured:

A) I can’t keep assigning him unpaid labor in a job he never applied for

B) maybe I should learn how to do things myself like a grown adult

Special shoutout to my brother for teaching me AND gently suggesting I might want to look into getting a dyscalculia diagnosis because numbers and measurements and I are… not aligned spiritually.

Small business ownership: come for the passion, stay because you now know how to do 47 jobs poorly but enthusiastically 🙃

Spring is here 🌿 and that means more miles on the trails and pavement. Runners and hikers—your legs and feet are putting in work, so it’s time to give them some love.

Orthopedic cupping is a powerful way to:
• Loosen up stiff ankles• Reduce tension in the shins• Improve overall range of motion

By combining cupping with facilitated stretching, we can help restore mobility, decrease tightness, and keep you moving efficiently and pain-free.

Take care of your foundation—your feet and ankles carry you every step of the way.
