Thank you to everyone I work with on making safe places for our super star elders! Thank you to all the independent living, assisted living, memory care and adult care homes!
I'm headed on a plane to go back East to work with my sister and brother to square away more accommodations for my mom. We want her to have the best quality of life. She is 88 and since covid hit she had to stop teaching water aerobics at Colgate University. She had her social life basically shut down since covid hit.
Important to make sure we are doing all we can to keep her active and upbeat!

Working together. It is what we need to do.

Last night the Courtyard Fountains team was asked to help a sister assisted living and memory care community. Pheasant Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care in Molalla had to quickly be evacuated for the residents safety due to fire danger. I am so very proud of our team! Everyone jumped in to help set up apartments to welcome 45 guests. The entire team was moving furniture, stocking supplies, and unloading residents and equipment from seven buses – their tasks completed in the early hours this morning. The Pheasant Pointe team evacuated their entire building in two hours. That is an amazing accomplishment! Hats off to these dedicated individuals who care for our most vulnerable people, even while they are also being evacuated from their homes.

I am so humbled by our residents who have stepped up to offer assistance for these special visitors. The compassion and caring has been such a blessing today. For some this brings back memories of being taken from their homes during war times and natural disasters. For others, it’s an opportunity to entertain an angel unawares.

The outpouring of generosity from the Gresham community has been amazing. Thank you to Mary at Gresham Total Rental Center for providing 14 beds, Gaiska and his daughters delivered another bed, Kindred Hospice for linens and Care Partners – so many calls asking how people can be of help. I am honored to be part of the Gresham Community. Our own residents have called and stopped by to see how they are able to help out. Thanks to everyone for your support.

Please keep these residents and caregivers in your thoughts and prayers. Hold our brave firefighters in your heart as they battle fires throughout Oregon.
