💙 Celebrating Healthcare Administrators Appreciation Week 💙

This week, we're celebrating the incredible team members who keep Connect & Beyond running every day.

While our physical therapists may be the faces patients see during treatment, so much of the care experience depends on the people working behind the scenes — answering questions, coordinating schedules, navigating insurance, supporting programs, managing operations, solving problems, and making sure every patient feels welcomed and cared for from the moment they connect with us.

A special thank you to:
✨ Deanie, whose warmth, organization, and attention to detail help keep our patients and programs running smoothly.
✨ Cindy, who brings kindness, compassion, and a genuine love of helping others — whether she's assisting patients at the front desk or connecting them with resources through our lending library.
✨ Rabekah, who keeps countless moving pieces aligned while helping share our mission with the community through business operations and marketing.
✨ Kjersten, who works behind the scenes managing revenue cycle and compliance, ensuring the systems that support patient care remain strong, accurate, and sustainable.

Each of these women brings unique strengths, talents, and heart to their work. Together, they help create the welcoming, supportive experience our patients know and trust.

Please join us in thanking them for all they do. 💙

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy is one of the most misunderstood areas of healthcare, often associated only with postpartum recovery or bladder leakage.

But pelvic health affects people of all genders and stages of life, and symptoms involving the pelvic floor are far more common than many realize.

Our newest blog explores:
✨ What the pelvic floor actually is
✨ What pelvic floor PT can help treat
✨ What to expect during treatment
✨ Why Kegels aren’t always the answer
✨ How pelvic health PT can support both women and men

At Connect & Beyond, our Pelvic Health Physical Therapists help people address concerns ranging from urinary urgency and pelvic pain to postpartum recovery, core dysfunction, post-surgical rehabilitation, and erectile dysfunction.

Most importantly: these symptoms are common, but they are not something you simply have to “live with.”

🚽 Bladder leakage is common — but it’s not something you just have to “live with.”

This month’s features pelvic floor specialist Natalie Graham, PT, answering:
“What causes bladder control issues (urinary incontinence) and how can pelvic floor physical therapy help?”

Urinary incontinence can happen when the muscles and nerves that help the bladder hold or release urine aren’t working as well as they should. It may show up as leaking with coughing, sneezing, lifting, laughing, or feeling a sudden strong urge to go.

Pregnancy/postpartum changes, menopause, constipation, chronic coughing, prostate issues, and pelvic floor muscles that are either too weak or too tight can all contribute.

The good news? Most causes are treatable.

Pelvic floor physical therapy can help improve bladder control through exercises, relaxation strategies, bladder retraining, and lifestyle adjustments to help your muscles and bladder work together more effectively.

You are not alone — and support is available 🤍

What We’re Loving This Month 📚✨ Why Pelvic Pain Hurts

Pelvic Floor issues can feel confusing, frustrating, and hard to talk about - which is exactly why we love this book 🤍

Why Pelvic Pain Hurts is a short, easy-to-read guide that helps you understand something many people experience: why pain can stick around even after the body has healed.

What we appreciate most is how it shifts the focus beyond just structure or injury and explains how the nervous system can become a little overprotective over time.

One of our favorite takeaways is the “measuring cup” analogy 🫗
Stress, fear, past experiences, and physical inputs all add up and when the cup gets too full, pain can overflow.

Simple. Validating. And it makes so much sense.

Even better, it offers gentle, practical ways to start calming the system - from breathing to small mindset shifts. 🌿

If you’re dealing with pelvic pain (or curious to understand it better), this is a great place to start.

And if you’re ready for support, our pelvic health PT team - Natalie Graham & Marie Long - are here to help you connect the dots and move forward with a plan that fits you 🩺

✨ This deck is available in our Library if you’d like to explore it. 📚

Provider Spotlight: Natalie Graham, PT

If you’ve been dealing with pelvic health concerns, persistent symptoms, or just feel like something isn’t quite right, Natalie is someone you want on your care team. 💛

With over 20 years of experience in pelvic floor physical therapy, Natalie works with people of all genders to address things like pelvic pain, bladder and bowel changes, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, and post-surgical healing.

Her approach is both highly skilled and deeply practical. She blends manual therapy, movement, biofeedback, and rehabilitative ultrasound to help you better understand your body - and actually make progress that lasts.

What patients appreciate most is how she listens. Natalie takes the time to understand your full story, then creates a plan that fits your life - not the other way around.

If you’ve been wondering if pelvic floor PT could help, this is a great place to start.
