We had the best time celebrating National Donut Day today! Huge thanks to Michelle and Jessica from Right at Home for treating our residents to a spectacular donut bar. The party continued into happy hour with the wonderful tunes of Music We Remember providing the perfect live entertainment.

Our morning walk took us past some gorgeous green trails today, but the best part is always the "talk" that goes with the "walk!" There's nothing quite like sharing a laugh on a park bench with good friends to start the day off right.

This Watermelon, Feta and Mint Salad is pure summer in a bowl. 🍉

Light, refreshing, and packed with hydration, it is an ideal recipe for older adults who want to stay nourished and cool on warm days, with anti-inflammatory ingredients that support overall wellbeing.

Ingredients
🌿 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon
🌿 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
🌿 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves, roughly torn
🌿 1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
🌿 Juice of 1 lime
🌿 1 tablespoon olive oil
🌿 A small pinch of sea salt
🌿 Optional: a light pinch of chilli flakes for a gentle kick

Instructions
✅ Arrange the watermelon cubes and cucumber slices in a wide, shallow serving bowl.
✅ Scatter the crumbled feta cheese evenly over the top.
✅ Add the torn mint leaves, distributing them throughout the salad.
✅ In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice and olive oil, then drizzle gently over the salad.
✅ Finish with a small pinch of sea salt and chilli flakes if using.
✅ Serve immediately or chill for 10 minutes for an even more refreshing result. 🍋

We are incredibly happy, honored, and blessed to celebrate June’s 100th birthday today! It was wonderful seeing her surrounded by so much love from her family, friends, and fellow residents.

​We want to send a special shout-out to Tigard Police Chief Jamey McDonald for dropping by the community to give June his personal birthday wishes! We truly appreciate your support and community spirit.
