Ollie's here to remind you: now is the time to call for 4th of July calming medications πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Have a hard time getting your pet to take their pills? They might just need a little practice! We recommend:

πŸ§€ Wrap their favorite snack (cheese, a piece of hot dog, etc) in a pill pocket and give as a "special treat." You can repeat this a few times a day for several days to build a positive association with the pill wrap!

Once your pet is happily taking the pill-pocket wrapped high value treat, start offering them pieces of just plain pill pocket.

πŸ’Š Finally, wrap the pill(s) in some pill pocket and have 2-3 pieces of empty pill pocket handy. Offer your pet treat, treat, wrapped pill, treat.

Hopefully with a little practice and distraction, your pet will be a pro in no time!

It might feel like June just started, but we promise: NOW is the time to get ready for the 4th of July! 🧨

Many dogs and cats are stressed by loud, unpredictable fireworks. For pets with mild anxiety, white noise and long-lasting treats (like a frozen peanut butter kong), might be enough to get through. But for extreme fear, your vet may recommend calming or anti-anxiety medications.

If your pet is taking calming medications for the first time, we recommend doing a "trial run" on a quiet day so you know how your pet reacts before the big event.

To discuss your options or order a refill, give us a call as soon as possible! πŸ“ž 971-405-111
