💙 **Honoring a Visionary. Celebrating a Legacy. Looking Toward 100 Years!** 💙

Today, University of Health Sciences College of Optometry (WUCO) is honoring the life and legacy of **A. M. Skeffington, OD** — one of the true visionaries who helped shape modern optometry.

Dr. Skeffington was a pioneer in behavioral optometry and **co-founded the Optometric Extension Program in 1928**, helping establish a vision-centered approach that continues to influence optometry and vision care today. He is also widely recognized as the **“Father of Behavioral Optometry”** and developed the influential **Four Circles Model of Vision**.

We are especially proud to see his contributions being celebrated on the WesternU campus, with **Dr. Bennett McAllister** sharing Skeffington’s achievements and the history of OEPF with students.

And there is even more reason to celebrate…

🎉 **OEPF was founded in 1928 — and we are getting ready to celebrate our 100th Anniversary in 2028!**

For nearly a century, OEPF has carried forward the vision, curiosity, and commitment to education that Skeffington and the early pioneers of our profession envisioned.

As we approach 100 years, we look back with gratitude — and forward with excitement about the future of optometry.
