Learning something new isn’t just rewarding; it can help keep the aging brain engaged.

For people living with dementia, the act of learning, even something simple, can still bring confidence, connection, and that wonderful feeling of “I did it!” Research supports the idea that certain approaches to learning, such as cognitive stimulation and errorless learning, can make these experiences more positive.

Here are some tips and insights for family caregivers:

Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of our first responders. ❤️ We did a little dine and dash yesterday, and it was such a good reminder of how much you all do for people every single day. You show up when people need you, even on the days when nobody thinks to say thank you. We appreciate you more than you know. Thank you for everything you do and for always being there. ❤️🙏🏽
Be sure to take some to thank them as well!

When a loved one is diagnosed with dementia, the whole family is affected, including children.

Kids notice changes, too. They may feel confused, worried, or even think they’ve done something wrong. Honest, age-appropriate conversations can help children understand what’s happening while maintaining a loving connection with their family member.

Here are some guidelines for talking with children about a loved one’s dementia diagnosis:
https://www.anthemmemorycare.com/blog/how-to-talk-to-children-about-a-loved-ones-dementia

When a loved one has been diagnosed with dementia, it impacts the entire family. And that, of course, includes its youngest members. While adults often focus on caregiving responsibilities and medical decisions, children are quietly observing the changes happening around them. They may notice that G...

Summer gatherings are a great time for food, family, and fun. But for loved ones living with dementia, hot weather and changes in routine can make mealtimes more challenging.
