Truth is that a FLAT FOOT is also:

- a big toe that isn't functioning adequately
- a foot that is under the stress of impact
- ankle that doesn't bend well
- a knee that collapses inward
- a outer hip that is weak

BUT.....

If apply pressure about 2 inches below your knee there is a really good chance that you start to move and feel a bit better!

Our peroneal muscles live on the outer edges of our lower leg just below our knee. They travel from below the knee, along the side of our lower leg and wrap around the bottom of our foot. As an action, they help flatten our foot when doing things like walking and running.

What we DON'T NEED is for them to be tight. When this muscle group gets tight, it flattens our foot. Flat feet can be a big problem for our ankle, knee, hip and lower back.

Use a tennis ball to help release a common trigger point the develops about 2 inches below the knee. Doing so will help make the corrective stretching and strengthening exercises much more effective in restoring the arch of the foot.
