Together in Hope
Today isn’t my typical wellness newsletter because I cannot stop thinking about the people of Venezuela after Wednesday’s devastating earthquakes. It didn’t feel genuine to write about self-care or wellness tips while so many families are experiencing unimaginable loss.
I’m sure many of you have seen the heartbreaking videos of people including children and babies trapped beneath collapsed their collapsed homes, families desperately searching through the rubble, and rescue teams working around the clock. Tens of thousands of people are still unaccounted for, and every hour matters. Yet even in the middle of such devastation, stories of hope continue to emerge as survivors are still being pulled from the rubble days later.
Disasters like this have a way of putting life into perspective. They remind us how temporary this life is and how many of the things we worry about each day really aren’t worth carrying. I’ve found myself holding my family a little tighter and thanking God for the ordinary moments that so often go unnoticed.
One of the most beautiful things to witness in times like these is humanity coming together. Neighbors have been digging through the wreckage with their bare hands, while rescue teams from around the world work tirelessly beside them. Even now, people are still being found alive beneath the rubble. In the darkest circumstances, compassion has a way of shining through.
It can feel overwhelming to know how to help from so far away. Prayer is powerful, and if you’re looking for another way to support those affected, here are a few organizations actively providing relief:
Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières)

With love,
Meagan
