Small foot problems can become serious if they aren’t noticed or treated early. Regular foot care can help you spot changes before they become bigger concerns. 🦶

Keep your feet healthy by:
• Checking your feet regularly for cuts, blisters, sores or changes in color
• Keeping feet clean and moisturized
• Wearing properly fitting shoes and socks
• Avoiding walking barefoot
• Talking with your care team about any wounds that aren’t healing

If you have diabetes, poor circulation or another condition that affects your feet, routine foot care is especially important.

Some aortic and vascular conditions may have a genetic cause.

About 20% of aortic disease, including aneurysms, dissections and ruptures, is associated with genetics. Knowing when to consider genetic evaluation can help patients and their families better understand their risks and make informed decisions about care.

The Jobst Heritable Vascular & Aortic Disease Program evaluates patients with suspected genetic causes of aortic disease, as well as those with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, hypermobility spectrum disorders, genetically defined Ehlers-Danlos subtypes and associated conditions. Genetic evaluation can help identify risks for family members and may also influence surgical decision-making and timing.

Unexplained Pelvic Pain? It Could Be a Vascular Condition.

Chronic pelvic pain affects millions of women each year, and for many, the cause may be a vascular condition called pelvic venous disease.

According to the American Venous Forum, more than 6 million women in the United States experience chronic pelvic pain related to pelvic venous disease. Air quality across our region is at unhealthy levels today. While everyone can be affected, children, older adults, pregnant women and people with asthma, COPD, heart disease or other chronic health conditions are at greater risk. Exposure to elevated levels of smoke and fine airborne particles can cause coughing, throat and eye irritation, shortness of breath and chest discomfort. It can also worsen existing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.

⚠️To protect yourself:
Stay indoors when possible
Keep windows and doors closed
Run air conditioning if available
Avoid outdoor exercise and strenuous activities
Monitor for symptoms such as coughing, throat irritation, shortness of breath or chest discomfort

If symptoms become severe, seek medical attention.
