Putting your thoughts on paper is a simple but powerful tool for your mental health.

Writing things down gives your mind a much-needed break. Journaling helps you process racing thoughts, reflect on complex emotions, and actively reduce stress.

Taking just a few minutes each day to write creates a safe, quiet space for self-awareness and deeper healing. You do not need to be a perfect writer to feel the benefits. You just need to show up for yourself.

Do you prefer to write in a physical notebook or type your thoughts out on a screen?

Graduation brings excitement, possibility, and sometimes uncertainty too.

For many teens, this season is filled with big emotions and even bigger questions about what comes next. And while the future may feel overwhelming at times, it’s important to remember that no one has to have everything figured out right away.

This milestone is not about having all the answers — it’s about recognizing the hard work, growth, and resilience that helped get you here.

To all graduates: celebrate how far you’ve come, give yourself grace through this transition, and trust that it’s okay to take the next chapter one step at a time.

Congratulations, Class of 2026 — your journey is just beginning.

Today, we are celebrating 19 of our RFS Behavioral Health clients graduating from Woodward High School.

Nineteen graduates. Nineteen stories of courage, healing, and quiet perseverance.

Walking across that stage today took more than studying and showing up — it took real inner strength. We see the work that happened behind the scenes: the emotional hurdles, the hard days, and the decision to keep going anyway.

Personal growth does not always come with a trophy. But today, it came with a diploma — and we could not be more proud.

Congratulations to every one of our Woodward graduates. You did not just earn a degree. You proved how far you have come.

We asked Nina Rodriguez, Director of Clinical Services, what keeps her motivated.

Her answer? The good and the bad.

Nina shares how both positive experiences and challenges have shaped her journey and continue to motivate her. Because growth doesn’t only come from the easy moments — sometimes the difficult experiences teach us resilience, perspective, and purpose.

Motivation can come from many places, and sometimes it’s the full journey — highs and lows included — that keeps us moving forward.

June is PTSD Awareness Month, a time to focus on healing and understanding.

PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. It often impacts emotions, relationships, daily routines, and overall well-being. While healing can be a difficult journey, the right support, coping tools, and mental health services can make a meaningful difference in someone's life.

This month, we encourage our community to focus on:

• Learning more about trauma and PTSD
• Breaking the stigma surrounding mental health
• Supporting survivors with compassion and understanding
• Reminding others that asking for help is a sign of strength

No one should have to navigate healing alone. Awareness creates understanding, and understanding creates support. You are never alone on this journey.

Great care starts with a strong, connected team.

We recently asked RFS Behavioral Health case manager Nelly Jones: How do you approach working with your team to achieve success?

For Nelly, it all comes down to communication. She knows that staying closely connected with her coworkers is the key to making a real impact. By maintaining open lines of communication, Nelly and the therapist can completely align their goals. This teamwork allows them to provide the absolute best care for every single client.

When our staff works together seamlessly, our community gets the dedicated support they deserve. We are so grateful for Nelly and her commitment to collaborative care.

Tell us in the comments: How does clear communication help you in your daily work?

Summer is the perfect time to build lasting memories and strengthen family bonds.

Spending quality time together is about much more than just having fun. It actively supports your child’s emotional well-being and development. Whether it is a walk through a local park, a backyard picnic, or playing a simple game at home, these shared moments give children a deep sense of connection and security.

When kids feel safe and connected to the people they love, they grow with greater confidence and resilience. Giving them your time and attention is one of the best ways to support their mental health this season.

What is your favorite summer activity to do with your family?

Learning to reframe those thoughts takes time, practice, and a lot of self-compassion. Some days it may feel easier, and other days it may feel like a challenge. That does not mean you are doing it wrong. It means you are human, and growth is still happening.

Giving yourself patience and grace through the process matters. The way you speak to yourself, pause before reacting, or choose a gentler thought can all be meaningful steps forward.

Small mindset shifts may not seem big in the moment, but over time, they can help build confidence, strengthen emotional wellness, and create healthier ways of thinking.

What is one small way you practice self-compassion when negative thoughts show up?
