Communication Boot Camp - Week 4 - The Wild West

Last week we saddled our horses and headed on out to the wild west! We rode bucking broncos in the hallway and a rocking horse in the gym. We dressed up like sheriffs and cowboys in the Pretend Play room, and took care of horses in the stable playset. On Thursday, our special guest was the Herdsmen Puppeteers who did a very funny show about Punch and Judy in the Wild West. Today started our last week of camp, when we will learn all about community helpers.

Communication Boot Camp - Week 3 - Space

Last week at Communication Boot Camp we blasted off into space for a galactic adventure! We dressed up as astronauts and explored the planets and stars. We worked on space puzzles and built cool spaceships in the Building center. We also crawled through a space station that ended in a ball pit in the Gym. On Thursday, we went to the Ritter Planetarium to see a very cool show and learn all about the constellations.

Communication Boot Camp - Week 2 - High Seas

Last week in Camp, we went on an adventure in the High Seas with pirates and mermaids. In the gym, we played in a pirate ship ball pit and hunted for buried treasure. Some of our creative campers also pretended the swing was a ship! In the “Creativity” center, we made jellyfish from paper plates and bubble wrap. And on Thursday, our special guest was The Herdsmen Puppeteers who took us "landlubbers" across the ocean with Captain RedBeard and his unusual crew. What a great week! This weeks theme...SPACE!

Communication Boot Camp - Week 1 - Camping

Last week, we kicked off our five-week kids camp for kiddos 4 - 7 years old. We have eight campers this year and each week has a fun theme! Our theme for Week 1 was "Camping". In the gym, we played in a motor home tent and took some great road trips. In the Creativity center, we made binoculars to help us search the skies for birds and painted with marshmallows on sticks! We had lots of time outside, fishing, playing with sidewalk chalk and racing on scooters. Our special guest for the week was Metroparks Toledo who taught us all about fishing and let us try out our casting skills. This was a great week! Bring on Week 2, where we'll explore the High Seas!
