It has been a while since I posted. I am fine, still happily working in Toledo. Had my first virtual visit with a patient/family successfully today! Used Doxy.me on my phone, and was able to type on my computer [that the phone was resting upon] as usual while chatting, asking and answering questions, observational physical findings.

Congratulations! The 2019 ACA (Affordable Care Act) enrollment period has been shortened to 45 days (Nov 1-Dec 15). You're not seeing advertising about the enrollment window online or on TV because the White House has defunded the notifications and wants the program to fail so they can use the low enrollment to condemn the program. And mysteriously this year the ACA website is down on Sundays for "maintenance." Fortunately, your friends are posting this and using the word "congratulations" so it gets posted more frequently in Newsfeed by FB algorithms. Please copy and paste, not share. Congratulations

Research update: for new onset type 1 diabetes patients, new protocols are being developed.

A pioneering treatment has been trialled which could eventually be used to protect insulin production in people with newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes. An early trial of the DILfrequency study has been completed by a research team from the University of Oxford.
