Today is World Mental Health Day.
Mental health is just as important as physical health, and it’s okay to ask for support. If you or someone you know is struggling, the 988 Su***de and Crisis Lifeline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by call or text.
Small check ins, a message, a call, a few minutes of your time, can mean more than you know.

October is here, and we're thinking of everyone it touches this month: patients, survivors, and the families standing beside them.

A simple screening or an honest conversation with your doctor can catch something early, when there are more options and more time to act. So this month, check in. On your own health, and on the people you love!

There are a lot of assumptions out there about what it means to join a clinical trial. Two of the most common are not true.

Participants can leave a study at any time, for any reason. That choice belongs to you throughout the entire process, not just at the start. Cost is another big misconception. Most studies have no cost to participate, and many compensate for time and travel.

Clinical research runs on informed choices. Knowing the facts is the first step. Interested in current research opportunities? Visit the approved DM trials link to view available studies and submit interest.

World Alzheimer's Day is a moment to recognize the millions of families navigating memory and brain health conversations together.

Moments like this one matter, showing up for each other, staying present, having the harder conversations before they feel urgent. Learning the basics of brain health, and knowing when to bring a concern to a healthcare professional, can help both patients and the people who love them feel more prepared.

This week is National Su***de Prevention Week. If you or someone you know is struggling, support is available. The 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 by call or text.

Checking in on someone, a message, a call, a few minutes of your time, can mean more than you know. You don't have to have the right words. Showing up is often enough.

Fact: Cholesterol can affect people at any size. Genetics, diet, and activity level all play a role.

A simple blood test can help answer questions, and learning the basics can help you ask better ones.

Blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar. These numbers come up at nearly every checkup, but what do they actually measure?

Blood pressure measures the force of blood against your artery walls. Cholesterol measures fat like substances in your blood. Blood sugar measures how your body processes energy.

None of them tell the whole story alone. Learning the basics can help you ask better questions at your next appointment.

Twenty years called for a celebration, and our team showed up for it.

From our very first site in Houston to the network we've built today, none of it means anything without the people in these photos: the coordinators, investigators, and staff who show up every day for our patients and for each other.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the last two decades. Here's to celebrating today and building what comes next.
