πŸ’š Happy Medical Assistants Recognition Week! πŸ’š

This week, we are celebrating two very special members of our LightWell family, Amanda and Nayma! 🌿

These two amazing ladies are truly the heart of so much that happens behind the scenes at LightWell. From welcoming patients with kindness and compassion to keeping our days running smoothly, Amanda and Nayma play such an important role in making sure every patient feels seen, heard, and cared for.

Working in mental health takes a special kind of person. It requires patience, empathy, understanding, and a genuine heart for helping others. We are so grateful to have Amanda and Nayma on our team, bringing those qualities to our practice every single day.

Amanda and Nayma, THANK YOU! πŸ’š Your hard work, dedication, and the love you pour into our patients never go unnoticed. We appreciate everything you do, both the big things everyone sees and the countless little things that make such a difference.

LightWell simply wouldn’t be the same without you two! πŸ₯°

Please join us in showing Amanda and Nayma some love this week! πŸ‘πŸ’š

πŸ’š Supporting Those Who Answer the Call. πŸš’πŸš‘πŸš“

Today, the LightWell Integrative Psychiatry team had the privilege of attending the Resilient Responder Workshop at The Woodlands Emergency Training Center, hosted by the Montgomery County Behavioral Health and Su***de Prevention Task Force.

Our first responders dedicate their lives to protecting, serving, and caring for others, often witnessing and experiencing things most of us can only imagine. Their strength and sacrifice deserve more than our gratitude. They deserve access to compassionate, comprehensive mental health care and a community that stands behind them.

At LightWell, we believe mental health care should address the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. We were honored to be part of an event dedicated to building resilience, breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health, and supporting the families who stand beside our first responders every day.

A heartfelt thank you to Carrera Counseling, The Woodlands Fire Department, Lupe Tortilla, and everyone who helped make this meaningful event possible.

πŸ’š To our first responders: You spend your lives taking care of everyone else. Please remember that you deserve to be cared for, too.

We are grateful to be part of a community that recognizes the importance of showing up for those who always show up for us.

Low energy. Trouble concentrating. Feeling flat, or wired, or both. Sleep that stopped working.

Those can be depression or anxiety. They can also be a thyroid that has drifted, a hormone shift, or something else the body is doing that has nothing to do with your character or your effort.

This is why we look before we prescribe. A thorough psychiatric workup takes a history, and it also considers what the body is doing underneath the symptoms. Sometimes that changes the plan. Sometimes it confirms it. Either way you deserve to know which one you are dealing with.

None of this means medication is the wrong answer. It often is the right one. It means the answer should come after the looking, not instead of it.

Anxiety and depression often show up together. If you feel wired and worn out at the same time, you are not imagining it, and you are not a complicated case. These two overlap more often than not, and treating them as one connected picture usually works better than chasing each on its own. Swipe for how they feed each other and what care can look like. If both have been weighing on you, integrative psychiatric care is here for Tomball, Magnolia, The Woodlands, and Houston. Link in bio when you are ready. πŸ’Œ

Perfectionism can quietly wear you down. From the outside it looks like high standards and getting things done. On the inside it can feel like nothing is ever enough, rest has to be earned, and one small mistake can color a whole day.

High achievers are especially good at hiding how heavy that is. You can be productive and exhausted at the same time. Both can be true.

You are allowed to set the bar somewhere human. If the pressure has started to cost you your sleep, your peace, or your relationships, that is worth paying attention to. We offer integrative psychiatric care across Tomball, Magnolia, The Woodlands, and Houston, and we are here when you are ready. Link in bio. πŸ’‘

πŸ’š LightWell is proud to be at the 2026 OCD Texas Symposium!

At LightWell Integrative Psychiatry, we believe that meaningful mental health care begins with understanding the whole person.

We’re excited to connect with fellow mental health professionals, advocates, and members of the OCD community at this year’s OCD Texas Symposium!

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often misunderstood, and those living with it deserve compassionate, evidence-based care that goes beyond stereotypes.

Our commitment to continued education, collaboration, and advancing treatment options reflects our mission to help individuals and families find hope, healing, and lasting wellness.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn, connect, and support greater awareness of OCD and the importance of specialized treatment.

πŸ’š Because everyone deserves to feel seen, understood, and supported.

Ecclesiastes does not tell you to cheer up. It says there is a time to weep and a time to mourn, and it puts those seasons in the same list as laughing and dancing, as though all four belong to a whole life.

Psychology arrived at something adjacent about three thousand years later. Researchers followed 222 adults, took daily readings for two weeks, and checked back in six months. The people who did better were not the ones who felt less. They were the ones who did not add a second layer on top of the first, the voice that says you shouldn't be feeling this.

Worth being careful here, because it is easy to hear wrong. Acceptance in that research does not mean liking the feeling, wanting it, or giving up on it changing. It means not putting yourself on trial for having it. And this was an observational study, so it shows a pattern that held, not a cure.

Which is roughly where Ecclesiastes already was. A season is not a verdict on you. It is a season.

What would change if you stopped arguing with how you feel and just let it be a season?
