The City of Tomball’s emergency alert system is a free resource for residents who want to receive updates on urgent issues, such as severe weather warnings, evacuations and boil water notices, shelter-in-place advisories, major road closures, prolonged emergency activity, and more. This system is not used for routine updates, so you’ll only receive alerts that are important and relevant.

🚨 Not every “heart attack” is a heart attack.
An aortic dissection—a tear in the body’s largest artery—is a life-threatening emergency that can mimic a heart attack. The wrong diagnosis can have devastating consequences.

If you or a loved one has sudden, severe chest or back pain, advocate for yourself.

Ask:
✅ “Can you check the blood pressure in BOTH arms?” A significant difference can be an important clue to an aortic dissection.
✅ “Could this be an aortic dissection?” “How did you rule that out?”
✅ “Do I need a CT angiogram (CTA)?” A normal EKG or chest X-ray does not rule it out.
