Tucker Reece Scott

Tucker Reece Scott, age 18, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday morning, August 28, 2026, at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Tucker was born at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow on June 27, 2008, a son of Craig Arron Scott, and the late Chasity Renee Copass. Tucker attended Monroe County High School, and at only 18 years of age, he was already a hardworking mechanic who loved to work on anything with an engine. When he wasn’t trading on cars or trucks, you would find him riding dirt bikes or four wheelers, riding mile long wheelies, and leaving burnt rubber anywhere he could get the traction. His love for machines, riding and working with his hands was a big part of who he was.

Tucker is survived by his father, Craig Aaron Scott, two sisters, Baylee Scott, Emberlyn Cain and fiancé, Hunter Harwood. His grandparents; Allen and Kim Scott, and Lisa Cawthorn and Tim Copass, all of Tompkinsville. Aunt, Celesta Scott, and uncle, Chris Scott and wife Miranda, nieces and nephews; Wren Turner, Brooks Gearlds, Kori Scott, and Locklynn Harwood. Cousins, Kilee Williams and fiancé Ridge Kennedy, Riggs, Peyton Scott, Rhett Scott, Blakely Kate Kennedy along with a host of extended family and friends also survive.

In addition to his mother, Chasity Renee Gearlds, he was preceded in death by his great-grand parents; Roger and Golda Hall and Ervin and Elizabeth “Betty” Scott, great-uncle, Rodney Scott, and great aunts, Stephanie Miles and Kim Redmon.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in Scott’s Pleasant Acres Cemetery. Bro. Dennis Copas and William Yokley will officiate the services.

Visitation will be held on Monday, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., and again after 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the family with final expenses.

Pallbearers: Sawyer Smith, Axle Smith, Karson Habhab, Ty Page, Westin Ford, Hunter Page, Lane Collins, Peyton Scott, Kason Page, Braden Garrett, Gunnar Young and Hayden Froedge.

Mr. Jason Wayne King, age 48, of Glasgow, Kentucky and formerly of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, at his parents’ home in Monticello. Jason was born in Glasgow, Kentucky, on April 26, 1978, the son of Kermit Wayne and Rhonda Sue (Scott) King. Jason enjoyed gaming and was an avid reader and YouTuber. He was a 1996 graduate of Monroe County High School.

He is survived by his parents, Kermit and Rhonda Scott King, of Monticello, one nephew, Owen Mason King of North Carolina; his paternal grandmother, Yvonne Bessie King along with a host of aunts, uncles and extended family.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jared Ryan King; Maternal grandparents, Quint and Ann Scott and paternal grandfather Ralph King.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20th, 2026, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn.

Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Tonya Denise Bartley

Ms. Tonya Denise Bartley, age 50, of Tompkinsville, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Tonya was born in Tompkinsville, on September 2, 1975, a daughter of the late Tom Dennis Bartley and Ann Runelle Spears. She graduated from Lindsey Wilson College and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services and Counseling and spent twenty years doing social work for the State of Kentucky. Tonya was a member of Liberty United General Baptist Church, and loved spending time with her family, cooking, and shopping.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Noble Steenbergen and Zebablan Steenbergen and wife Payton, all of Fountain Run, two sisters, Patty Branham and husband Joey and Arline Patterson and husband Michael. Two brothers, Tommy Bartley and wife Sarah and William Bartley and wife Tracy, step-mom Edna Jordan, one step-brother Keith “Custer” Walker and one brother-in-law Charlie Spencer, along with a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry, Lonnie, and Jimmy Bryant, and step-sister, Judy Spencer.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Noon, on Friday, August 7, 2026, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in the Sid Yokley Cemetery. Bro. Ronnie Wheeler will officiate the services.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Friday morning after 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m., Noon, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Monroe County Backpack Program in memory of Tonya.

J.E. Kerr

J.E. Kerr, age 83, of the Rockbridge community, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at his home in the Rockbridge community. J.E. was born in Monroe County, Kentucky on February 4, 1943, a son of the late Bedford and Dovie Mae (Thompson) Kerr.

He was married to the late Mildred “Millie” Kerr on August 31, 1968. She preceded him in death on October 4, 2024. J.E. was a farmer and logger for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Church of Christ and enjoyed spending time with his family.

J.E. is survived by two sons, Randy Kerr and his wife Kim, of Elizabethtown; Kevin Kerr and his wife Lacey, of Glasgow; and one daughter, Susan Hammer, and her husband David, of Glasgow. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Meagan Bishop, Bayley Hammer, Ethan Kerr, Lucas Kerr, Kendall Kerr, and Levi Kerr; and one sister, Joyce Strode (Freddie) of Tompkinsville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred “Millie” Kerr; an infant son, Jeremy Ellis Kerr; a granddaughter, Lydia Brooke Kerr; two brothers, Roy Kerr and Willie Edward Kerr; and one sister, Margie Emberton.

Funeral services will be private, with a graveside service for family held at Mt. Gilead Cemetery with Jason Page officiating.

Mr. Stevie Joe Collins, age 65, of Glasgow, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Glenview Health and Rehab in Glasgow, Kentucky. Stevie was born in Georgetown, Kentucky on September 29, 1960, a son of the late Steven H. and Patsy (Gregory) Collins. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved his children and thought Lily “hung the moon”.

Stevie is survived by his daughter, Beth Collins; Granddaughter Lily Mae Collins Frost and her fiancé’ Spencer Owsley; One sister, Hope Collins of Georgetown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Genetta Sue (Blakely) Collins; his Son, Stevie Joe Collins, Jr., and Brother Seymour Collins and Son-In-Law Michael Frost.

Memorial Service will be 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 2nd at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville and burial will be at Harlans Crossroads Cemetery at a later date. Dr. Jerry Bean will officiate the service. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 4:00 p.m.

Mr. Bobbie Garnett Chandler, age 80, of Gamaliel, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at home surrounded by family. Bobbie was born on November 13, 1945, in Tompkinsville, a son of the late William Hascal “Jack” and Myrtle Susan (Jackson) Chandler. He graduated from Tompkinsville High School class of 1964 and later worked many years at Belden’s Wire and Cable. Bobbie was a deacon of Gulley Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family and working in his garage, building woodworking projects, and restoring a Jeep and a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle for his daughter. Bobbie found great joy in creating with his hands and sharing that love with his family.

Bobbie is survived by his wife of sixty-one years Mary Lou (Howard) Chandler of Gamaliel, daughter Melissa Farrar and husband Brian of Gallatin, Tennessee. Two grandchildren, Whitney Phillips and husband Scott, and Austin Copass and wife McKinsey, five great-grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law, Andrea Chandler, and a host of extended family also survives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timmy Chandler, and sister Velma Jacks.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from Bartley & Sons Gamaliel Chapel, with burial to follow in the Gamaliel Cemetery. Bro. Dennis Copas will officiate the services.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday morning after 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Bartley & Sons Gamaliel Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Monroe County Backpack Program in memory of Bobbie.

Ms. Lesly Amayrani Chalchi Gomez, age 18, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, in an automobile accident. Lesly was born in Florence, Kentucky on April 18, 2008, a daughter of Jose Guadalupe Chalchi Mendez, and Yesenia Gomez Ventura. Lesly was a 2026 graduate from Monroe County High School, where she enjoyed playing soccer, and had planned to attend Eastern Kentucky University, to obtain her Nursing Degree. Lesly had a contagious smile, that could brighten any room, she was known for her beautiful personality and athleticism. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, and her siblings.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Yesenia Gomez Ventura and Fernando Gomez, of Tompkinsville, her father, Jose Guadalupe Chalchi Mendez, of Iowa, three siblings, Nancy Chalchi Gomez, Jose Guadalupe Chalchi Gomez, of Tompkinsville, and Javier Guadalupe Chalchi Reyes, of Carrolton, Kentucky, her maternal grandparents, Romelia Ventura M. and Jose A. Gomez H. Her boyfriend, Garrett Tingle, along with a host of friends and a community that mourns her loss.

She is also survived by special aunts and uncles; Marisol Beltran, Patricia Munoz, Apolinar Perez, Rolando Farfan, Santos Chalchi, Adrian Farfan, Martin Chalchi, Israel Ventura, Blanca Lucy Gomez, Angel Gomez, and Nancy Bonnet; special cousins, Leo Farfan, Jose Farfan, Ernesto Farfan, Elisa Farfan, Andy Gomez, and Alexis Gomez.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Calixto Chalchi, and Miguelina Mendez.

Funeral Mass will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville. Father Francis Wuyen will be officiating.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, after 12:00 Noon until time for the Mass at 5:00p.m.

Mr. Anthony Wayne “Smitty” Smith, age 64, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. Smitty was born in Barren County, on July 6, 1962, a son of the late Floyd Eagle and Bessie Louise (Likens) Smith. He was a 1981 graduate of Barren County High School, and joined the Army National Guard, 623rd First Artillery Field Battalion during the Desert Storm War and served for twenty years. He married Sabrina Sheffield on June 27, 1992. He retired from Dollar General Corporation in 2024 and was a long-time employee of Key Industries. After retirement, Smitty enjoyed spending time with his grandbabies, and mowing yards.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Sabrina Smith, one daughter, Chana Smith and companion Kaleb Watson of Summer Shade, two grandchildren, Aleigha Mae Grace Driver, and Annalise Noel Ramsey-Watson, one sister, Unika Hale and husband Barry, and one brother-in-law, Tony “Tank” Bryant.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Meme, Jessie D. Tyree, and two sisters, Ronical Sue Smith, and Sandra Kaye Crumpton and her husband David.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Dr. Jerry Neal Bean will officiate the service, Military Honors will be provided by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Sunday morning after 8:00 until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.
