“No is a complete sentence.”
We all know this, we have all heard it, read it, but how often do you practice that truth?

To avoid conflict, confrontation, we often go into ‘people pleasing’ mode, (it’s easier than the resistance) and yet so damn hard. It’s pure self-abandonment - and what usually happens is we get walked on.
This turns to resentment, which turns to guilt, and the whole thing blows up because we didn’t just say “no.”

I am not saying we need to engage, I am saying our boundaries must be strong and no one, no one, gets to be appeased at the expense of our integrity.

Just say no – say it and mean it.
Say it with love, walk on.
Say it with grace, because it is your saving grace, no explanations needed.
If they can’t respect your line in the sand – they are not worth your “yes.”

Remember, people only treat us as well as we allow them to…
