World Su***de Prevention Day is a reminder that connection matters. We appreciate Johnson County Mental Health Center for promoting awareness and encouraging support for those who may be struggling.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.

Su***de prevention starts with connection. A conversation. A check-in. Making space for someone to say theyโ€™re struggling and reminding them they donโ€™t have to carry it alone.

This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œChanging the Narrative on Su***de,โ€ calls on all of us to move away from silence and stigma and toward openness, understanding and support.

You donโ€™t need the perfect words to reach out. Ask how someone is really doing. Listen without judgment. Remind them that they matter. Help them connect with support when they need it.

And if youโ€™re the one struggling today, your reason is reason enough. Call or text 988 to connect with the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline anytime, 24/7.

This Su***de Prevention Month, let's Reach Out Anyways. Thanks to Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center for this reminder that a simple conversation can help someone feel seen, heard, and supported.

๐Ÿ“ฃ Be loud about the people you care about.

Check in. Send the text. Start the conversation. Ask how someone is really doing. You never know when a simple โ€œIโ€™m here for youโ€ is exactly what someone needs to hear.

This Su***de Prevention Month, we're choosing to Reach Out Anyways. ๐Ÿ’™

Be louder for your friends. Be louder for your family. Be louder for the people who might be struggling silently.

And remember, you don't have to have the perfect words. Showing up matters.
