Without hesitation, their team stepped up to help transport campers to safety, taking on the risks and challenges involved to ensure everyone could be evacuated quickly and safely. Reed, a former flute student himself, has been playing the Native American flute for three years and is now leading his very first group of students. This special concert will feature Reed and four of his students performing together and showcasing what they have learned.

We are thankful to report that, following the fire evacuation, all campers and Camp Chaparral staff have safely returned to the valley.

The safety of our campers and staff remains our highest priority, and we are grateful to everyone who assisted during this situation. Thank you to our families, staff, and emergency responders for their support and cooperation.

🚨 URGENT EMERGENCY EVACUATION NOTICE: CAMP CHAPARRAL 🚨

ALL CAMPERS AND STAFF ARE CURRENTLY SAFE. Due to active wildfires near the camp area, Camp Chaparral is undergoing an immediate emergency evacuation as a precautionary measure.

🚌 TRANSPORTATION & RETURN DETAILS:
Buses En Route: Official transportation is currently traveling up the mountain to pick up all campers.

Travel Time: One way trip takes approximately 2 hours.

Estimated Arrival: Expect your child to be back between 12PM-1:00 PM.

Drop-Off Location: All campers are being safely transported to the Yakama Nation Tribal School for parent pick-up.

⚠️ WARNING: Do NOT attempt to drive up to Camp Chaparral yourself. Mountain roads must stay completely clear for emergency vehicles and evacuation buses. Please head directly to the school.

As your high school campers head off to Camp Chaparral this week, our hearts are full of excitement for all that's ahead! 🎉⛺

While we hope to reschedule for our middle school session, we're sending lots of prayers and good vibes with our high school crew. 🙏 We also pray the smoke stays far away so everyone can enjoy a safe, healthy, and unforgettable week at camp.

For some, this will be their very last year at camp. For others, it's their very first adventure. No matter where they are on their camp journey, we hope this week is filled with laughter, new friendships, meaningful moments, and memories that will last a lifetime. ❤️

Here's to games, good time, late-night laughs, and all the fun that makes Camp Chaparral so special!
