OTOPLASTY (EAR PINNING) | A Natural, Balanced Look!
Otoplasty, also known as ear pinning, is a surgical procedure designed to reshape prominent or protruding ears, creating a more natural, balanced appearance.

Dr. Lewin takes a conservative approach, with the goal of preserving as much natural ear cartilage as possible, minimizing cartilage removal (if any), and achieving beautiful, natural-looking results.

👂 Unilateral Otoplasty: Correction of one ear, typically taking approximately 2 hours.

👂👂 Bilateral Otoplasty: Correction of both ears, typically taking approximately 4 hours.

Surgery time varies depending on the complexity of each patient's ears.

⏰ Minimum Age: 4 Years Old

Even as a nurse, this mom had concerns about anesthesia before her child's microtia ear reconstruction surgery.

Five years later, she looks back on their experience and shares how Dr. Lewin's carefully selected All-Star Team of medical professionals, from top to bottom, helped put her mind at ease.

👶 This little patient completed **Infant Ear Molding** treatment just last week!

Infant Ear Molding is a non-surgical treatment that can improve ear differences such as prominent ears, lop ears, Stahl’s ears, constricted ears, and other misshapen ears.

👂 Infant Ear Molding can also benefit some babies with **Grade 1 microtia** by improving ear shape and symmetry—without surgery. Grade 1 microtia typically involves a smaller-than-normal ear with most of its structures present, although some features may be underdeveloped or misshapen.

While ear molding CANNOT grow missing cartilage or fully correct an undersized ear, it may improve the Grade 1 ear's appearance depending on anatomy.

⏰ **Timing is everything!** Treatment is most effective when started within the first 2–4 weeks of life, while ear cartilage is still soft and flexible.

Treatment at our practice typically involves 3 sessions, spaced 2 weeks apart. Because early intervention is so important, we encourage families to find a specialist in their local area. Ask your pediatrician for a referral or visit www.earwells.com.

❤️ EarWell is a proud sponsor of our Earicles Microtia Atresia conferences too!

"Landon is not much of an animal person. He is usually skittish around dogs because they're high energy and he's afraid of being jumped on, but Buford's mellow-ness made him feel so safe.
Landon truly loves Buford so much. If we were more local, we'd probably try to make a stop every so often just to say Hi!" ~ Dominique, mom

Over 10 years ago, this young man from Ecuador had both ears reconstructed through Earicles after two prior failed reconstruction attempts (from other surgeons) with implant exposure.

Recently, Esteban lost his only Baha hearing device in an accident. Thanks to one of our incredible Earicles friends, we were able to connect him with a donated hearing device. ❤️👂

Now a college student studying finance at a university in Mexico, Esteban earned a full academic scholarship for his excellent grades and plans to graduate next year! He is incredibly grateful to be hearing again.

Esteban sent this heartfelt thank you to his Baha donor, as well as a separate one to our team.

A beautiful reminder of what the Earicles community is all about—helping one another, even years later. ❤️

Colin attended our Earicles Chicago Microtia Atresia Conference when he was just 3 years old to learn more about ear reconstruction surgery.

Now 5 years old, Colin is 2 months post-op from Porous Implant Ear Reconstruction (PIER) surgery along with a Cochlear Osia hearing implant. His 3D Lewin Ear is healing beautifully, and his Osia will be activated once he’s ready!

Look at that smile. Look at that confidence.
