We are proud to share that Omar Yasin, M.D. recently completed the South Bay’s first combined procedure using Boston Scientific's FARAPULSE™ Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) Platform and WATCHMAN™ Implant at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance

This advanced approach allows patients with atrial fibrillation (AFib), an irregular heartbeat that can increase the risk of stroke, to receive AFib treatment and stroke-risk reduction during a single hospital stay. By combining both procedures, patients may avoid multiple hospital visits and undergo anesthesia only once.

The medical center achieved top honors for its ability to rapidly diagnose and treat stroke patients, giving them the best possible chance for recovery.

Chloe is cancer-free! 🎉

At just 15 years old, Chloe was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in September 2025. Because of the aggressive nature of this type of cancer, she spent much of her journey in the hospital, facing every challenge with incredible strength and courage.

After a tough battle, 16-year-old Chloe has officially rung the bell, marking the end of her cancer treatment and the beginning of a new chapter.

Inspired by the nurses and caregivers who cared for her, Chloe now hopes to become a pediatric nurse herself. We couldn't be more proud of her resilience, determination and heart. We can't wait to see all she accomplishes in the future.

That's why we were proud to support the Providence Wilmington Wellness Center's "Maritime Treasures: A Celebration of Marine and Port Life," which connected nearly 400 Wilmington residents with hands-on learning experiences, community partners and local resources.

Made possible through a grant from the Port of Los Angeles Community Investment Grant Program, the initiative helped families learn about the connections between maritime industries, marine ecosystems and environmental stewardship while engaging with educational, environmental, maritime and public safety organizations dedicated to serving the Wilmington community.

Thank you to our community partners for helping create opportunities that bring residents together, strengthen local connections and inspire the next generation.

Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers are proud to be recognized in U.S. News & World Report's 2026-27 Best Hospitals rankings.

Torrance earned a spot among the top hospitals in Los Angeles and Orange counties and received a nationally high-performing specialty designation in orthopedics, while San Pedro received a nationally high-performing specialty designation in rehabilitation. Both specialties rank among the top 10 percent of programs nationwide, and both medical centers received high-performing ratings for multiple procedures and conditions.
