🌼 Congratulations to our July 2026 DAISY Award Honoree, Kaylea Rising! 🌼

At Community Hospital, we know that exceptional nursing is about more than clinical expertise; it's about the compassion, advocacy and kindness that make patients and families feel truly cared for.

Kaylea was nominated twice by grateful patients and families who shared how her thoughtful care made a lasting difference during their hospital stays.

One family shared how Kaylea advocated for their child by finding a more comfortable oxygen delivery option, helping both their little one and a sleep-deprived parent rest easier. Another patient praised her for taking the time to answer questions, checking in often and going above and beyond to ensure they felt supported throughout their stay.

These moments of compassion are what the DAISY Award is all about.

Thank you, Kaylea, for the empathy, dedication and exceptional care you provide every day. We are proud to have you on our team and grateful for the difference you make in the lives of our patients and their families.

Please join us in congratulating Kaylea on this well-deserved recognition! 🌼

Many of the most common health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure, can develop quietly, often without obvious symptoms.

That's why it's important to know your numbers. Regularly checking your blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and maintaining routine wellness visits can help identify potential concerns before they become more serious.

Preventive care isn't just about treating illness, it's about staying healthy and making informed decisions about your future. If it's been a while since your last checkup, consider scheduling an appointment with your primary care provider and taking an active role in your health.

Small steps today can lead to healthier tomorrows.

Having a primary care provider means having someone who knows your health history, understands your goals and can help you stay well throughout every stage of life.

Regular checkups and preventive care visits can help catch potential health concerns early, manage chronic conditions and provide guidance when new questions arise. Rather than waiting until you're sick, building a relationship with a trusted provider today can help you stay healthier tomorrow.

Whether it's an annual wellness exam, discussing recommended screenings or simply having someone to call when you need care, primary care is one of the best investments you can make in your long-term health.

Take the first step by establishing care with a provider in your community.

Summer time means more time outside and more encounters with bees, wasps and other stinging insects.

For most people, a sting causes temporary pain, redness and swelling that can be treated at home with a cold compress and an over-the-counter antihistamine. But in some cases, a sting can trigger a serious allergic reaction that requires immediate medical attention.

🚩 Call 911 right away if you or someone else experiences:
• Trouble breathing or wheezing
• Swelling of the lips, tongue or throat
• Hives or swelling away from the sting site
• Severe dizziness or fainting
• Severe stomach pain or vomiting after a sting

To help reduce your risk of getting stung this summer:
• Wear shoes outdoors.
• Keep food and drinks covered.
• Avoid swatting at bees.
• Stay away from nests and hives.

A little knowledge can go a long way in helping you and your family enjoy a safe, healthy summer.
