The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital artist of the month for July 2026 is Patty Ward. Her works are hanging at the Hospital as part of its monthly artist series and are available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the CHH Auxiliary.

Patricia is a self-taught artist whose journey into the world of art began at age 70 when she became interested in acrylic paint pouring. Since then, she expanded her craft by learning to paint still life scenes and pet portraits using acrylic poured backgrounds.

The 24th annual Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Golf Classic raised a record $316,000 to support the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute, funding a new Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator to deliver faster, safer, and more precise radiation treatments.

The event also honored the legacy of late hospital leader John J. Capobianco, with the introduction of the new Capobianco Cup to be awarded annually to the tournament’s winning team.

August Carter Gibson was born at 11:18 pm on Sunday to proud parents Gabriela Cruz and Travis Gibson.

Find Your Flow: Free Yoga in Coe Park

Join Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and Sanctuary Power Yoga for a free six-week, all-levels flow series at Coe Memorial Park in downtown Torrington starting Wednesday, July 8 at 4:30 pm.

Bring your mat, friends, and family—everyone is welcome to sign up through Torrington Parks and Rec or simply drop in and enjoy the experience together.

We’re excited to share that Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Auxiliary has continued its incredible 110-year tradition of giving back! At a recent ceremony, local students pursuing healthcare careers were awarded $1,000 scholarships to help them succeed and make a difference.

Congratulations to all the deserving recipients—including Addison Foss, Isabel Mascoli, Michaela Mumm, Jacob Nunes, Jesse Roberts, Silas Tripp, and Mattea Young—as well as special scholarship winners Dorothy Olmstead, Makenzie Chase, and Angelina Ciesco.
