Be Prepared - Preparation starts with being informed

School has changed quite a bit over the years. Some schools now have “health clinics” not just a school nurse. The rhetoric sounds nice, but what is the real purpose? Part of the goal is to help students with “mental illness”. What actually is mental illness and by who’s definition is this diagnosis being given?
Big Pharma and psychiatry are promoting "mental health" screenings in schools with superficial questions designed to make more and more students appear to have "mental illnesses" rather than the impact of stress and copper toxicity problems. When Dr. Malter was a school psychologist back in the 70’s and 80’s he saw that more and more students were being labeled as ADD or ADHD, when actually many of them more likely had auditory processing problems and the information overload of school curriculums pushed them into behaviors misunderstood as ADD/ADHD. When the person evaluating a student doesn’t have the training in mineral balancing and the effects of stress and copper toxicity; then they don’t have the context to understand this dynamic and interrelated system. Without this knowledge, they are led to thinking
1. stress overwhelm must be an illness
2. only medicine can help a person
We at the Malter Institute know that medicine isn’t the only thing that can help people especially children and stress overwhelm can certainly be handled with changes in diet, relaxation techniques, proper supplementation guided by HTMA and an understanding of what drives stress responses.
