The first Friday in September each year we celebrate the hard work, dedication, and kindness of the people involved with the Food Bank. National Food Bank Day was founded in 2017 by St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix, Arizona, to recognize the vital work of food banks and raise awareness about food insecurity. It honors the staff and volunteers who keep food banks running year-round and encourages collective action to ensure no one goes to bed hungry. In the U.S., food banks help about 42 million people each year, providing food to those facing poverty, illness, job loss, or other hardships.
Join us in thanking our amazing delivery drivers who make the 4th Thursday of the month here at Valley Village one we look forward to!
