Susan Mary Johnston Alexander, 68, of Marietta, South Carolina, passed away on August 25th, 2026, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born on October 18th, 1957, she was the daughter of James “Bud” and Marylou Johnston, both previously deceased.

Susan was a devoted mother, a loving sister, and a gentle soul whose sweet demeanor never faded, even through life’s hardships. She leaves behind her beloved son, John Alexander; her sister, Sharon Inmon; and her brothers, Danny Johnston and Jimmy Johnston. She is also survived by her cherished dog, Lexi, who brought her comfort and joy every day.

A hardworking and dedicated woman, Susan worked at New American Embroidery for 15 years, and also worked at Kemco, CDS Ensembles, and Palmetto Garments. She was known for her reliability, her strong work ethic, and the quiet strength she carried into everything she did. Susan had a tender heart and an unwavering love for animals—especially dogs. She was humble, sweet natured, and deeply devoted to her family. Her gentle spirit, compassionate nature, and loving presence touched everyone who knew her.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 3rd, at 4:00 PM at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Travelers Rest, SC. There will be a family bereavement meal post service.

Susan will be remembered for her kindness, her humility, and the love she gave so freely. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who loved her.

Cynthia A. Karmasin, 81, of Greenville, SC, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 31, 2026.

Cyndy had a successful nursing career for over 40 years. She started as a surgical nurse and later was the manager of a dialysis center. She retired to South Carolina to enjoy the nice weather. She was an active traveler and had many hobbies.

Cyndy was active at her Catholic Church in Schaumburg, IL as well as Greenville, SC. She served as a eucharistic and liturgical minister. She enjoyed volunteering and spending time with the sisters of St. Clare Monastery.

Cyndy was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Tillie Karmasin, and her brother Joseph. She will be remembered fondly by her sisters Paula (Bruce) Rutledge of Salem, SC; Alice (Robert) Jankowski of Downers Grove, IL. As well as her much loved cat, Amy.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from12:00 PM until 1:30 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial is private.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Monastery of St. Clare, 37 McCauley Road, Travelers Rest, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Furman "Junior" George Jr, 86, of Travelers Rest, SC, passed away on August 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born May 18, 1940, in Greenville, SC, he worked as a professional floor finisher.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Estep George, and his brothers, Donnie (Barbara) George and Larry (Bernice) George. He is survived by his children, Teresa Ann George, Bridget Hawkins (Jerry Smith), Wanda Allison (Robbie), and April Morris. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Chad Massey, Ashley Sherard (Drew), Travis Hightower, Andy Hightower (Autumn), and Samantha Hightower (Skyler); and five great-grandchildren: Lucas Mast, Avery Sherard, Logan Hightower, and Riley Harris.

He loved music, especially gospel and country and was a self taught guitar player. He devoted the 35 years after his wife's passing to care for their special-needs daughter, Teresa. His life touched the people around him in lasting ways, not through grand gestures but through his humble nature, quiet faith, and his simple goodness.

A Visitation/Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Kenneth Lee Neads, age 91 of Taylors, SC took his last breath on this earth on July 28, 2026 and stepped into eternity to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, with whom he’ll be with forever.

Ken was born on May 15, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to parents Leander & Lotchie Neads. Ken served in the National Guard from 1956-1962. He retired as a Colonel. Ken lived in Pittsburgh until he was 11 years old. His family moved to Williston, Florida when the steel mills closed after the war. Two years later his family moved to Tampa where he remained for the next 64 years. Ken joined the Tampa Fire Department in 1959 and rose to the rank of Captain. He retired in 1982. During these years he bought 160 acres of orange groves that he cultivated from seedlings to mature trees. He did most of the work required himself. During Ken’s early years he also earned his pilots license and bought a small Cessna plane.

Ken married Patsy Conway (from New Hampshire) in 1958 after only four months of dating. They were married for 68 years. They have three children. Kenneth Lee Neads II (Barbara), Bethany Torrens (Bruce), Holly Fordham (Mark). They have 11 grandchildren and 14 great children. Ken also leaves behind his sister Becky Cobb (from Ga.) Ken was proceeded in death by his parents and sister Nita Hollingsworth.

Ken loved to fish in Tampa Bay. He and Patsy loved to travel all over the world, but most importantly they never missed their yearly trip to New Hampshire...

Cary “Wayne” Grant, 76, passed away on July 27, 2026 peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to his family. Wayne had a generous heart. His life was defined by the love he gave to those around him, whether through wisdom, comfort, or his willingness to help anyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Wayne was born to Harry L. Grant (1917-1978) and Clovie H. Grant (1927-2000). In Greer, SC on March 10, 1950. Wayne was preceded in death by his siblings Judy Epps (1948-2002) and John “Taylor” Grant (1958-2022). Wayne was preceded in death by his grandson, Tyler Chapman (1994-2018). Wayne is survived by his cherished wife, Annie “Lou” Grant, of 57 years of marriage. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to commitment, faith, and enduring love.

Wayne is also survived by his and Lou’s three children: Beverly Grant, Michael/Cynthia Grant, and Chris/Jennifer Grant, who were among his greatest blessings. Wayne was most proud of his well deserved title, “Papa”. Survived in death are his grandchildren: Bradley/Hope Anders, Samantha Anders, Jamee Chapman, Angel Grant, Madison Grant, David Grant, Sterling Grant, and Aaron Grant. Lois S. Shea, 94, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026 in Travelers Rest, SC.

Funeral services will be held on September 12th with burial to follow at the Frenchtown Cemetery. Arrangements are by Johnson Walton Funeral Home, Milford, NJ.

Lois was born in Jersey City, NJ to Frank and Frances Summers on February 2, 1932. She graduated from Dickinson HS in Jersey City, and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in NYC. In 1951, she married the love of her life, Clarence F. Carver, who passed soon after. In 1954 she married Bernard P. Shea. She started her career at Colgate Palmolive as a secretary and finished her working life at M&M/Mars in Hackettstown, NJ, after many years as a customer service specialist. She was involved in the YWCA, local fire department auxiliaries, and other service organizations. Lois was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Ormond Beach, Fl. Lois enjoyed many happy years in Holly Hill, FL playing bridge, cards and traveling with her friends.

Lois is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Judith A Carver, both husbands, and her brothers, Kenneth and Frank Summers. Lois is survived by her daughters, Beth (Rob) Reinhold; Margie (Peter) Gadziala; and her son, Patrick (Chrysten) Shea. Lois also has 8 grandchildren including Colleen Donnelly, PJ and Owen Shea, Peter, Andrew, and Betsy Gadziala, Hank Reinhold, and Maggie Schiffhauer. Gypsy Marie (née DeSchriver) Denzine, 64, died on July 22, 2026 in Easley, SC in the presence of family after a two and half year battle with cancer. Born December 13, 1961 to parents Richard and Jean DeSchriver in Freeport, IL, the family moved to Stroudsburg, PA in 1969.

Gypsy loved to travel the world, play tennis, and spend time with family and friends. The past several years were filled with trips abroad with her partner, Robert Curtis, and her best friend and accomplice, Rebecca Campbell, eating and drinking their way through Europe. Her final international excursion was a family trip to Ireland in May, 2026. Her enthusiasm, smile, and zest for life was infectious. “Gypsy” was a nickname, earned by her sense of adventure as a child, but became her legal name as a teenager and she carried that spirit throughout her life.

Gypsy graduated from Stroudsburg High School in 1980 where she played on the tennis team, ran track and field, and was the editor of the school newspaper. She loved returning to Stroudsburg every five years for class reunions with her high school friends.

Gypsy earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from St. Cloud State University (MN) in 1984, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Counseling from the University of Texas-El Paso in 1988, and a Doctoral degree in Education Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado in 1996.
