June is Men’s Health Month.

At Havenwood at Springbrook Behavioral Health, we believe that mental health is health and that no one should have to navigate it alone.

This year’s theme, “Partners in Care: For Better Lifespans Across the Lifespan,” is a reminder that the people around us, family, friends, providers, and communities, can make a lasting difference in the lives of the men and boys we love.

This month, we’re joining the movement to wear blue every Friday as a visible sign of support. But the most powerful thing any of us can do is simpler than that: check in on someone. Start the conversation. Show up.

Talk. Support. Advocate.

Healing Happens Here 💙

National Hospital Week is May 10–16, and we want to take a moment to genuinely thank the people who make healing possible every day.

At Springbrook Autism Behavioral Health and Havenwood at Springbrook Behavioral Health, the work is hard. The hours are long. The cases are complex. And yet, every day, our teams show up for children and adolescents navigating autism, for adults in crisis, and for families who do not know where else to turn.

Healing is not just about treatment. It is about connection, trust, and safety. It is about the people who make others feel seen and supported during some of life’s most difficult moments.

That does not happen by accident. It happens because of the people here.

To our psychiatrists, clinicians, direct care staff, front desk teams, and everyone working behind the scenes, you are the reason healing happens here! Not the building. Not the program. You!

Thank you! Genuinely! ✨

Nurses are at the heart of behavioral health care. ✨

Happy National Nurses Week to our nurses at Havenwood at Springbrook Behavioral Health and to nurses everywhere!

In acute adult inpatient care, every shift brings unique challenges. Our nurses show up with compassion, skill, and steadiness, supporting individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges as they find safety, stability, and support when they need it most.

Your presence makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve.

Thank you for the care you provide and the impact you make every day! 💜

What does the first step toward recovery look like?

April is Alcohol Awareness Month, a time to recognize the impact alcohol use can have on individuals, families, and communities.

Awareness is important, but access to the right level of care is just as critical.

At Havenwood at Springbrook Behavioral Health, we provide medically supervised detox and acute stabilization in a safe, supportive environment to help individuals begin their recovery journey.

Recovery is possible, and it often starts with a single step!

Havenwood at Springbrook Behavioral Health is now offering an enhancement to our acute inpatient programming: Women’s Trauma Support.

This specialized offering provides a safe, supportive environment for women to begin their journey of self-discovery and healing. Patients are supported as they process experiences related to PTSD, trauma, and abuse while building practical tools for long-term recovery and emotional wellness.

Delivered within a women’s inpatient unit, this program offers a gender-specific setting with dedicated trauma-focused groups for those who would benefit from additional support.

Through evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), patients build skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness, while also engaging in psychoeducational programming and safety-focused care.

Led by an experienced multidisciplinary team, this program supports meaningful progress during inpatient treatment and ensures continuity of care, with appropriate aftercare connections upon discharge.

We are honored to walk alongside each patient as they build resilience, stability, and a renewed path forward!

February is Recreational Therapy Month

At Havenwood at Springbrook Behavioral Health, we’re proud to recognize the important role recreational therapy plays in the recovery journey of the adults we serve. This month, we’re celebrating our recreational therapy team, Anthony, Anna, Marra, and Noah, and the meaningful work they do every day!

Through structured groups, creative expression, movement, and leisure-based activities, recreational therapists help patients build confidence, reduce stress, strengthen social connections, and rediscover interests that support long-term recovery. These moments of connection and accomplishment can make a powerful difference during treatment and beyond.

We are grateful for the compassion, creativity, and dedication they bring to the individuals and families we serve!

Today, February 6, is Time to Talk Day, a reminder that meaningful conversations about mental health have the power to break down barriers and build stronger communities.

At Havenwood at Springbrook Behavioral Health, we provide comprehensive care for adults and senior adults living with psychiatric and substance use disorders. Time and again, we see how open dialogue reduces isolation and connects people to the support they need.

Talking about mental health shouldn’t be reserved for crisis moments. When we make these conversations part of our everyday lives in our homes, workplaces, and communities, we help dismantle stigma and create cultures of understanding and support.

Today, consider how you can contribute to a more open dialogue around mental health. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is start the conversation!

At Havenwood at Springbrook Behavioral Health, we believe mental wellness is not a destination. It is an ongoing journey shaped by compassion, evidence based support, and meaningful connection.

As we recognize Mental Wellness Month this January, we are reminded of the importance of walking alongside those we serve. For our team, care means meeting every individual and family with dignity, understanding, and consistency, creating a stable foundation for healing.

While January brings awareness, our commitment remains the same every day of the year. Mental wellness matters, and no one has to navigate the path alone! 💙

❄️ Managing Winter Wellness: Recognizing Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

December is SAD Awareness Month, a reminder that shifts in mood or energy during the darker months may signal Seasonal Affective Disorder, a form of recurrent depression influenced by reduced daylight.

At Havenwood at Springbrook Behavioral Health, we encourage the following simple daily habits to support your well-being this winter:

• Maximize natural light by opening blinds or stepping outside each morning.
• Consider light therapy to help offset limited sun exposure.
• Engage in regular movement, even a brief walk, to support your well-being.
• Keep a steady routine to support emotional and biological balance.
• Stay connected with supportive friends and networks.

Don't underestimate the power of small, intentional steps. Each deliberate action builds a stronger resilience within you, ensuring you feel deeply grounded and anchored, no matter the challenges this winter season brings!
