Life of Riley welcomed aquatic scientist Nick from Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians to share with the seniors about an underwater camera project looking at Whitefish and Lake Trout in the Bay. The seniors loved learning about Anishinaabe history in the area, changes in the Great Lakes ecosystem, and how the Tribe is studying Lake Trout, Whitefish, and the aquatic habitat.

Nothing brings people together quite like a little friendly competition!

Our Life of Riley residents and care team put their knowledge to the test with a fun round of trivia! There were plenty of guesses, laughs, teamwork, and maybe even a little debating over the answers. 😉

Activities like these are about so much more than having fun, they keep our minds active, encourage conversation, and give us another reason to gather together and enjoy each other’s company.

Today, we celebrate the hardworking men and women who have helped build, serve, care for, and strengthen our communities throughout the generations.

We’re especially grateful for our incredible Life of Riley team, whose compassion, dedication, and hard work make our homes such special places every day. And to our residents: we’re honored to celebrate the many years of hard work, wisdom, and contributions each of you has given to your families and communities.

A few of our favorite visitors stopped by Life of Riley!

There’s something special about being surrounded by the beauty of Northern Michigan. From curious deer wandering through the trees to beautiful sunsets right outside our doors, these peaceful moments are part of what makes Life of Riley feel like home.

We think our four-legged neighbors may be getting pretty comfortable around here… one even stopped by for a snack! 😂

We were so grateful to welcome the Dennos Museum Center to Life of Riley for a special presentation with our residents!

Our residents had the opportunity to learn about the museum’s beginnings and explore the fascinating history of its renowned Inuit art collection. The presentation included the story of artist and filmmaker James Houston, whose time in the Canadian Arctic helped introduce Inuit art to a much wider audience and played an important role in its growing recognition.

It was such a wonderful opportunity for residents to experience local arts and culture right from home, ask questions, share stories, and learn something new together.

A big thank you to the Dennos Museum Center for taking the time to visit and share this piece of art and history with our Life of Riley family!
