Every family has a story.

For the past several months, Cordia Members have been exploring the journeys that brought each of our families to America. Together, we've shared family histories, traced ancestral homelands on a community map, explored our nation's rich tapestry of cultures, and celebrated the traditions that shaped generations. Months of conversation, learning, and reflection have brought us even closer, reminding us that each of us carries a family story worth sharing.

Tonight, that journey culminates with our Welcome to America dinner, a thoughtfully curated five-course meal honoring the cultures and stories that continue to enrich us as individuals and as a community.

🍷 Brengman Family Wines, on Leelanau Pen*sula, hosted our Wine Enthusiast Group last evening. Brengeman's hand-crafted, estate-grown wine and food offerings were enjoyed immensely by the group!

Cordia at Grand Traverse Commons' Wine Enthusiast Group sets out weekly all summer long to sample our local vineyards and hot spots. In the winter, we bring things indoors and host regular wine tastings, often with a theme or focus on a particular wine region. 💜

Yesterday, Cordia's members and staff presented our original puppet show. "I Lost My Shoe at the Zoo" -- adapted from a children's book one of our members wrote -- to the children and families at the Children's Museum.

Over 44 individuals from our community were involved over the course of several months -- from the script writing to the building of the set, design and creation of the puppets, and writing of music, to acting, singing and puppeteering -- to bring this story to life!

A huge thank you to the residents of Cordia who donated over $1,000 worth of new socks and underwear for our guests. They wanted to do a special project to help those in need in our community. They purchased, sorted and packed bags with several pairs in each for all ages and sizes. Thank you to everyone who donated and worked on the project. These basic necessities are always in high demand and very much appreciated! 💙
