One last boarding pass, one last stamp in their passports, and one last day of fun with new friends! Thank you for sharing your precious children with us for these 9 days of adventure. 🧳 We had so much fun, witnessed a ton of growth, & we were truly blessed by each one of our “campers”! (I sincerely hope I have each one of them featured in these pictures! If I don’t, someone will tell me, & I will edit! Promise! 😜)

🪐🌎 Day 8 🚀👽 Our “Speech Adventures Around the World” camp was truly OUT OF THIS WORLD! 🌟

We had a BLAST today as we suited up like astronauts 👨‍🚀 (& maybe a few friendly aliens 👽 snuck in)! 🚀

A galaxy-sized THANK YOU to our guest readers, Mrs. Amy Merrick (GCHS Special Education Teacher) and Mrs. Samantha Litton (Kenton School Principal)! 📚 They shared the inspiring story of a real astronaut who proved that with determination, you can shoot for the stars ✨ and never let obstacles keep you grounded. 🌙(Check out the photos of the book—it was a stellar choice!)

Today’s adventures included:
🚀 Launching into our rocket ship for lots of photos
🪐 Creating sensory space bags
⭐ Building edible constellations during snack time
🌍 Exploring the planets and discovering a whole universe of new facts

Our imaginations were in orbit all day long, and the smiles were simply astronomical! 💫

🔔 Day 9 was our annual Family Day, and trust us—you won’t want to miss it. Stay tuned for one last adventure as we wrap up this incredible journey around the world! 🌎❤️

Welcome to the ARCTIC!🐻‍❄️❄️
Day 7 of “Speech Adventures Around the World” was snow much fun, and also….🥶…..a tad chilly!

We searched through the suitcases to find things to keep us warm up as we braced for an adventure near the north & south poles!
⛄️ 🌎 🦌

📚 Mrs. Lauren Moeller was our guest reader for both groups, & she brought the fun! We learned about animals in the Arctic, talked about habitats, & we talked about how we would need to dress there. We made personalized popsicle holders to keep our hands warm. 🧤🧣We also made pretend snow, and enjoyed playing with it in the sensory room! ❄️

Next up: 💫 Day 8 - our last theme day. Spoiler alert - it may have been everyone’s favorite! It was “out of this world”!! 🪐

🤿Day 6 took us into the 🌊 ocean deep!

We enjoyed story time 📚 with Ms. Sharon Sewell (dear friend and principal of Yorkville School) & Ms. Bett Jewell (Ms. Cassie’s mom 😉 & guidance counselor for Kenton & Spring Hill Schools). Ms. Sharon brought ocean-themed goody bags for all of the campers, & Ms .Bett helped with our afternoon centers. We are so thankful for their time, generosity, & kindness!!

We learned about animals that live in the deep, dark ocean 💡 🐠 🦈 🪸, made an “ocean” sensory bag, ate a 😋 yummy, fun on-theme snack, and had so much fun!

Day 7 will take us to a totally different area of the world! Stay tuned….

We spent some time with our campers this summer talking about how we can be kind to others. What can we say that make someone feel better if they are going through a hard time? Perspective taking is important for kids - Can they tell you how they would like to be treated? What would they want someone to say to them when they are sad, scared, worried, etc? We made this paper chain of their words (and ours) for a special family who is climbing quite a mountain right now. The things they wrote & said were precious & so genuine! ❤️ 🏔️

On day ✋🏾 of “Speech Adventures Around the World”, we went from “landlubber” to “matey” in the blink of an eye! We became treasure-seeking pirates in the morning 🏴‍☠️ 🪎, & we were island explorers in the afternoon 🏝️ 🧭 🏖️!

📚 Everyone’s favorite story teller Mr. Ken Roberts was our book reader for both groups this day- he really brought the stories to life by dressing the part & had their attention from the first word! Then Mrs. Barbara Edney Roberts shared a craft 🎨🐚 with all of the campers and taught them where pearls come from. She also had time to share a story- which we all loved!!🥰

We had a great time hunting for our “treasure” snack, we learned lots of new pirate vocabulary words (aye-aye!), & enjoyed practicing our “Rrrrrs” like a Pirate!

🧭Day 6 hint…. We dove right into a closely related theme.…. 🌊🦈🪸🤿

Day 4️⃣ of “Speech Adventures Around the World” was so much fun! Our campers got to go to the RAINFOREST!!

📕 The amazingly, talented Mrs. Dawn Siler read to both groups this day & stuck around for an art lesson again this year! 🎨 The kids who have been to camp before were so happy to see her back! They made such cool, colorful snakes!🐍🖌️🧑🏽‍🎨

We stayed VERY busy this day, so less pictures were taken, but a great time was had by all! 🤩
