"Come and try it!" That's what one of our current tai chi participants told us when asked what they'd say to someone considering tai chi.

Researchers found that people with no vascular risk factors in midlife lived on average 13 years longer without dementia than those who had three risk factors.

The results suggest people can take an active role in delaying dementia by quitting smoking and managing their risks for diabetes and high blood pressure.

Since starting tai chi, Billie says she's noticed better balance, more strength, stress relief, and even a boost to her memory — plus "a feeling of accomplishment!"

The class makes it easy for her to schedule intentional time for herself and she enjoys the company of other tai-chi'ers.

Her advice to anyone thinking about trying tai chi? "Just do it!"
