Truthful Thursday*
Let's be honest for a moment...
Things work differently when you're doing them for God instead of doing them for people.
Here's a question I've had to ask myself:
Am I posting what's on God's heart, or am I posting to get a reaction from people?
If we're honest, many of us have posted things simply to be seen, validated, admired, or to make someone else notice us.
I know I have.
When I look back at some of my older posts, I realize they were rooted more in ego than in purpose.
Growth has a way of revealing who we used to be.
Today, I try my best to share things that encourage healing, challenge us to grow, bring awareness to issues affecting others, make people think, or simply bring a smile to someone's face. Sometimes I share what God is teaching me. Other times I share where He's taking me. And yes, sometimes I post humor because laughter really is good for the soul.
But here's what I've learned...
If your reason for posting is to upset someone, prove a point, throw shade, or make people wonder who you're talking about,
I have one question….
How's that working out for you?
I've learned that peace produces far greater fruit than pettiness ever will.
My goal isn't to impress people.
My goal is to be authentic.
To be honest.
To be obedient.
To use my platform in a way that honors God and hopefully encourages someone else along the way.
Now, before anyone misunderstands me...
It's “your” page.
You have every right to post whatever you choose.
I'm simply sharing the wisdom God has been teaching me.
Because I've discovered something
When your motives are pure
When your heart is surrendered
When your platform becomes ministry instead of performance,
God has a way of opening doors that no amount of attention ever could.
So today, on this Truthful Thursday,
Don't be messy.
Be a blessing.
That's one of the ways God elevates us.
🙏🏽 Truthful Thursday Reflection
Before you post today, ask yourself:
Am I seeking people's attention, or God's approval?
