This past weekend we had a Food as Therapy class at Naturopathic Institute of Therapies and Education.
Food truly has the power to heal. π±
One of the most important aspects of health is understanding how the foods we eat impact our bodies. "You are what you eat" and "Food is medicine," are familiar phrases to us however when we begin to apply these principles in our daily lives, they become powerful tools for wellness and healing.
While supplements, therapies, and other health practices can be beneficial, nutrition remains one of the foundational pillars of overall health. This class was a reminder of how important it is to get back to the basics by learning how to nourish our bodies in ways that support, strengthen, and sustain us.
It was an educational and inspiring weekend filled with hands-on learning. We were able to juice wheatgrass, make homemade cashew milk, learned how to ferment kimchi, prepared food based on blood type, and discovered ways to make healing foods part of our everyday life.
A great experience with some pretty awesome people that reinforced the value of mindful eating and the powerful role nutrition can play in supporting health and well-being. π₯¬π₯π§
