We’ve been so busy that we missed our own birthday. Whoops!
As we reflect on the last year, we can’t help but be so thankful to our community for allowing us to thrive.
Our mission statement reads as follows:
“Providing individualized interventions through RELATIONAL PRACTICES that empower children AND THEIR FAMILIES to thrive in their lives and the environments in which they do and will live. May they then go on to inspire the world!”
We started this journey because we truly value not only what we can provide for the children of this community (and the surrounding communities) but what we can also provide for their whole family through connection and care. We constantly talk about how being a parent of kids with disabilities does not adhere to a 9-5 schedule. Sometimes the times you need to vent the most is at 5:01 on a Friday. Or 12:10 on Saturday. We’re here for you at that time too.
Over the past week or two, we’ve helped a family in an emergency, we’ve hung out with a mama who had time to kill, and we’ve texted both concerns and celebrations with you in and outside of business hours. And how did those unscheduled things affect us? It brought us such appreciation and joy. You showing up at our front door because you need help and have nowhere else to go and you texting us to include us in your lives is WHY we started this thing to begin with. And we are so grateful for the opportunities to help, to support, and to be your friends.
Thank you for a wonderful 1st year. May we have many more together! ❤️
With all of our love and appreciation,
- Mikaela and Liz
