Keep Trinidad Safe

Keep Trinidad Safe Community-led safety & awareness initiative
Promoting connection, prevention & support
Together, we rise. Together, we protect.

Connecting clients with resources and services.
📍916 Arizona Avenue, Trinidad, CO 81082
Open Monday - Friday 8am-4pm The Justice Reinvestment Crime Prevention Initiative, originally enacted in 2017 by the Colorado General Assembly and administered by the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, (DOLA), was expanded to include Trinidad and unincorporated areas of Las Animas County, on September 1, 202

1, in HB21-1215. The initiative proposes to reduce crime and recidivism through community and economic development. DOLA selected the Trinidad Community Foundation (TCF) to administer the Transforming Safety Community Grant Program for this area. The Youth Club of Trinidad applied for this funding through TCF and was awarded the funds to do this important work, and this was how Keep Trinidad Safe began. How we Work
Community partners refer clients that have been involved with the judicial system. The KTS Case Manager then interviews the client to discover their unique needs and suggest services and resources that would be most beneficial. Some of our clients are a part of prevention programming, with the hope that they will never be involved with any judicial system. There are also clients that need more wrap around services from our agency. Services that are offered by our Partners:
Project Power, Internships at Earth Mountain Education Farm, assistance in completing GED or other education services, job skills, behavioral health services, detox, rehab, sober living, CRAFT, gardening, NA, AA, Peer Mentors, and the
list is always growing.

The Keep Trinidad Safe family has experienced a profound loss. During this difficult time, we appreciate the love, kindness, and understanding from our community as we support one another.

Please note that Keep Trinidad Safe will be open on Tuesday, August 18, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We will be closed for the remainder of the afternoon so our staff and KTS family can attend a memorial service.

Thank you for your compassion, patience, and continued support. We look forward to serving our community again during our regular hours following the service. 💜

🚨 Donation Request: Men's Clothing Needed! 🚨

Our clothing closet is running very low on men's clothing, and we need your help!

Keep Trinidad Safe provides clothing at no cost to individuals and families who are experiencing hardship, homelessness, recovery, or other life challenges. Right now, the demand for men's clothing has far exceeded our supply.

We are especially in need of:
👕 T-shirts
👔 Button-up shirts
👖 Jeans & pants
🩳 Shorts
🧥 Hoodies & jackets
🧦 New socks
👟 Shoes & boots
👕 Men's underwear (new only)

Donations of clean, gently used clothing (and new undergarments) can make an immediate difference for someone working toward stability.

If you're cleaning out your closets or are able to purchase a few essentials, we'd be incredibly grateful for your support. Every donation helps restore dignity and gives someone a fresh start.

📍 Donations can be dropped off at Keep Trinidad Safe 918 Arizona Avenue, during our regular business hours. Mon- Friday 8am-12, 1230-4. Please refrain from leaving donations outside of business hours

Thank you for helping us serve our community with compassion and dignity. ❤️ Please share this post to help us reach more people!

Have you ever felt completely lost?

Like no matter which direction you turned, you couldn't see a way forward. Maybe you've felt hopeless, overwhelmed, or like no one could possibly understand what you're going through.

If that's you, you're not alone.

Recovery and healing don't begin when you have all the answers—they begin with one small step. The hardest part is often not knowing where to start, and that's okay. You don't have to have it all figured out.

Whether you're struggling with your mental health, substance use, housing, or life's challenges, there are people who care and resources available to help you find your next step.

At Keep Trinidad Safe, we believe that everyone deserves hope, support, and the opportunity to build a healthier future. No matter where you are in your journey, we'll meet you where you are and help you navigate the path forward.

You are not your worst day. You are not alone. And it's never too late to ask for help.

💙 If this message speaks to you, reach out. If you're doing well today, consider sharing this post—you never know who might need to hear these words.
