It’s been a busy few weeks with several “firsts.”

I completed my first (two) Nalu Peripheral Nerve stimulator implants. This technology provides outstanding relief for isolated neuropathies and focal pain issues.

My first Nevro Spinal Cord Stimulator implant for chronic low back pain. The HFX technology with Nevro allows for high frequency stimulation so patients can get pain relief without the burden of uncomfortable paresthesias.

And today, I performed my first Saluda Spinal Cord Stimulator trial. A novel technology and the first device to use closed-loop technology to ensure treatment is dosed appropriately no matter how mobile or active a patient is.

I’m very proud to offer a variety of treatments for our patients at Macomb Pain Management. Each patient is unique and requires different treatments and technologies based on their individual needs. There is no one size fits all approach to pain.

Thank you to the amazing reps and organizations that make these treatments available. Joe Cammarata and the Nalu Team. Carrie Purgatori, Tom Adrahtas, and Sara McIntee with the Nevro Team. And Jon Kelly and Matt Zito with the Saluda Team.

A special Thanks to Dr. Moosavi for the guidance and mentorship to cultivate these skills and techniques.

If you or someone you know are suffering from chronic pain and would like to discuss treatment options please call our team at Macomb Pain Management.

I had a great experience with my first MILD (Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression) case with the help of Michelle, Trae and the rest of the Vertos Medical team. This is a great minimally invasive procedure for those with spinal stenosis who are not ready for more aggressive spine surgery. With this procedure we are able to safely decompress and alleviate pressure on the nerves in the spinal canal to reduce pain and improve function

I’m excited to start offering VIA Disc Injections for my patients. This is an allograft injection to the disc to help supplement degenerative intervertebral discs. There are limited evidence-based treatments for degenerative disc disease and disc related pain, but VIA Disc gives us a great option with proven data.

I’m honored to be featured in OUWB’s publication, inMEDICINE, highlighting my role on the Dean’s Advisory Board.

Special thanks to my amazing wife Stephanie Bonnette for taking care of everything for the boys and I so I can be an active member on this board on top of my other work responsibilities!

I had a great time leading a patient education event last night to discuss some of the procedures I offer to treat chronic pain. I enjoy these opportunities to see patients outside the typical clinic environment and hope to empower these individuals with the knowledge to manage their pain. These events are special as they allow people living with chronic pain to share their experiences and learn from each other.

Here, I am providing my patient with a Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injection into the facet joints of the low back for acute traumatic facet arthropathy. Facet joints are small joints in the spine that allow movement. These joints are often the primary pain generator for neck and low back pain and pain at these joints is commonly caused by trauma and degenerative disease of the spine.

I love having the ability to provide regenerative procedures with biologic injectables as a treatment option for my patients. Often times, for facetogenic pain, physicians are limited to ablations/nerve burns or cortisone injections which each have their own drawbacks. Biologic injections help promote the natural healing process with much less side effects or complications from traditional treatment options.

To learn more about regenerative treatment therapies I can provide for your pain or musculoskeletal issue, schedule an appointment today.
