This month, the Therapy Collaborative Book Club is reading This Book Is Gay, in honor of PRIDE month! This book is ranked in the top 10 most challenged books in America, according to the American Library Association, so you know it is a great resource and full of helpful, accurate and non-shaming information. In a world where more than 40% of LGBTQ+ youth seriously consider attempting su***de, it is more important than ever that mental health professionals are equipped to provide high quality, informed and compassionate care to everyone. We are looking forward to reading this and being able to share it with clients!

Did you know that flowers significantly improve mental health by triggering the release of feel-good brain chemicals like dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin? According to the National Institutes of Health, flowers reduce stress, anxiety, and depression while increasing feelings of life satisfaction, happiness, and social connection. Their colors, scents, and natural presence foster relaxation and provide a calming, mindful, and restorative environment.
So get out there and grow them, sniff them and pick them- it’s good for your health!

Alright….Fan girl moment here! We LOVE Marc Brackett, and the groundbreaking work he does on emotional intelligence. His newest book is another awesome opportunity to learn practical and accessible tools to regulate your emotions , rather than react to them
It’s a quick read with lots of real life examples and strategies, and we have been recommending it to our clients to support the work they are doing in sessions!
