Did you know your breath and how you breathe has a direct impact on the Nervous System?

The act of breathing itself, as well as the quality of our breath, can have profound effects on our overall health and well being.

In this two-hour course, we’ll take a closer look at the anatomy of breathing, the autonomic nervous system, the stress and relaxation responses, the vagus nerve, and the fascinating relationship between breath and the brain.

And then, we’ll put it into practice.

You’ll experience a variety of breathing techniques and learn how different patterns can be used for different purposes, from calming and down-regulating to improving focus, shifting energy and changing the way you respond to stress. You’ll leave with a better understanding of why these practices work and simple tools you can use in everyday life.

This is a valuable and informative course for everyone. Whether you are looking to deepen your own personal practice or learn some breathing techniques to help you in your everyday life.

Price: $49 - Includes 2 hours of training & digital manual.

🔥 It’s officially SAUNA SEASON! 🍂

As the temperatures outside begin to drop, it’s the perfect time to turn up the heat on your wellness routine!

Sauna and deliberate heat exposure have numerous science backed benefits, some of our favorites include:

🫀 Circulation & Cardiovascular Health: Heat exposure increases heart rate and blood flow as blood vessels dilate, creating some of the same physiological responses we experience during exercise.

🧠 Stress & Mood: Sauna heat activates the body’s natural response to temperature changes, including pathways associated with endorphins and mood regulation.

💪 Relief from Muscle & Joint Discomfort: Studies suggest infrared heat therapy may help reduce certain types of chronic pain (including arthritis), stiffness, and discomfort as well as minimizing DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) from our more challenging workouts.

🔬 Curious about the science? Neuroscientist Dr. Andrew Huberman explores the research behind sauna use and deliberate heat exposure in his Huberman Lab podcast episode, “The Science & Health Benefits of Deliberate Heat Exposure.”

We’ve got 5 spots left for this Thursdays Myofascial Release Class.

Fall is a great time to give a little extra attention to the areas that support breathing, circulation and lymphatic movement.

In this one-hour Myofascial Release class, we’ll use MFR techniques to work with the chest, upper back, shoulders and neck, places that can become tight and restricted from stress, posture and everyday movement.

We’ll also explore how the fascial system connects with the respiratory and lymphatic systems, making this a perfect complement to our October focus on cold, flu and immune-season support.

No experience necessary.

More construction is heading our way. Beginning tomorrow, Monday, October 5th, the intersection at Long Lake at Rochester Road will be partially closed, which could cause some delays. Please consider alternate routes and give yourself a little extra buffer time to get to class.

Long Lake Road at Rochester Road, on the west side of the intersection, is expected to close the week of Oct. 5, 2026 for three weeks, weather permitting. During the closure, Long Lake Road between Livernois and Rochester roads will be open to local traffic only. Through traffic will not be permitted to access Rochester Road from this section of Long Lake Road.

Residents and businesses located within the affected section of Long Lake Road will continue to have local access; however, motorists should expect delays and temporary changes to normal traffic patterns.

Please use caution when traveling through the area and follow all posted construction and detour signage. The City appreciates your patience and cooperation while this work is completed.

For info and project alerts, visit troymi.gov/RochesterRoad.
