Troy Irish Genealogy Society

Troy Irish Genealogy Society The Troy Irish Genealogy Society (TIGS) was founded by a group of Irish descendants from Troy NY area. Check out our website at www.troyirish.org

Genealogy organization to help those doing research on their Irish roots, with connections to Troy NY and surrounding communities.

An update on troyirish.org: TIGS hasn’t met consistently as a group since COVID, and health issues have made it harder for those of us still involved to keep the website going.

Over the years, TIGS members transcribed close to 140 record sets covering Troy-area cemeteries, churches, newspapers, and more. Right now that work exists only because a small hosting contract gets renewed each year.

We don’t want to risk losing it. We’re planning to move our original transcriptions to a larger, paywall-free genealogical organization so this collection is preserved for good.

If you have thoughts or questions, we’d love to hear them by August 4. Thank you to everyone who has supported TIGS over the years.
