You don’t need to have all the answers before you begin. What matters most is a willingness to learn, practice, ask questions, and grow.

Massage therapy is a profession built through education, mentorship, and hands-on experience. Every skilled therapist started somewhere, and for many, that first step was simply deciding to explore the possibility.

We're honored to welcome Lena DeGloma, MS, LMT, CLC, CCCE to Living Essence Massage Institute this September for two continuing education courses exploring the often-overlooked yet incredibly important area of breast and chest health.

What an honor to welcome New York State Senator Lea Webb to Living Essence Massage Institute last week for a meaningful conversation with Rasa Spa founder, Rachel Hogancamp.

Together, they reflected on the journey of Rasa Spa, the importance of creating spaces where people can access care, rest, and healing, and the continued growth of holistic health education through Living Essence Massage Institute.

We are deeply grateful to Senator Webb for recognizing Rasa Spa with the New York State Senate Empire Award and for celebrating the dedication, compassion, and community connection that have guided our work since 2006.

This recognition reflects the many hands, hearts, and healing practitioners who have helped shape Rasa Spa and Living Essence into what they are today. We are honored to continue serving our community and nurturing the next generation of wellness professionals.

How long does it take to become a licensed massage therapist? In New York State, aspiring massage therapists must complete a 1,000-hour, NYSED-approved massage therapy education program and meet the state’s licensing requirements before becoming eligible to take the licensing examination.

At Living Essence Massage Institute, students can complete their 1,000-hour Massage Therapy Certification Program in approximately 33 weeks. Our immersive curriculum combines anatomy and science, hands-on technique training, clinical experience, and career preparation to help students build the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to enter the profession.
