Are Generics as Good as Brand Names?
Do you know the differences between FDA approved generic medications and brand name meds? Both drugs have the same active ingredients. Brand-name drugs are the first on the market and cost much more in order to recoup the money spent to develop the drugs. The manufacturers have several years of exclusivity due to the patent on the drug. Once that time frame expires, any pharmaceutical company can make a generic version of the drug. Have questions about what's best for you? Ask our Pharmacists!

Pharmacokinetics
Pharmacists are trained to understand what happens to a medication after it enters your body. This includes how it's absorbed, where it travels throughout the body, how it's broken down, and how it's eventually eliminated.
This knowledge helps pharmacists identify potential medication issues, recommend appropriate dosing, and answer questions about how medications work and what to expect while taking them.

August is Psoriasis Awareness Month. Psoriasis is an auto immune disease that can be successfully treated using oral and topical medications. Chlorine, sunscreen and too much time in the sun can all cause psoriasis to act up in the summer months. Ask our pharmacist for recommendations.
