Falls are one of the leading causes of serious injury in older adults — and bone density loss is a big part of why. Most people think of this as a women's health issue. It's not. 💙

Men over 65 lose bone mass too, and because it happens without symptoms, it often goes unnoticed until a fall or fracture makes it impossible to ignore.

The good news: there's a lot that can be done to lower the risk. Swipe through to find out what's worth knowing. 💪

✨ Celebrating 10 Years of Care, Compassion, and Community! ✨

We were honored to celebrate Senior Helpers Westchester’s 10th Anniversary at Zero Otto Nove with our team, partners, clients, and friends.

A special thank you to the Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter for joining us and for their ongoing work supporting families affected by Alzheimer’s disease. We look forward to continuing the fight and supporting this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. 💜

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey. Here’s to the next 10 years of making a difference!

"He says he's fine." It's one of the most common things we hear from families — and one of the hardest things to look past. 💙

The truth is, older men are less likely to ask for help, even when they need it. Not because they're not struggling, but because independence matters deeply to them. That's something worth respecting. It's also something worth gently working around.

Here are a few signs that the dad, husband, or father figure in your life might need a little more support than he's letting on:

🪞 A noticeable change in his appearance or hygiene.
🍽️ Unexplained weight loss or changes in appetite.
🎣 Withdrawing from hobbies or social activities he used to enjoy.
💊 Confusion, forgetfulness, or trouble managing medications.
🚶 Difficulty getting around the house safely.

If any of these feel familiar, trust that instinct. A conversation — even a gentle one — can make all the difference in creating a path to provide dad with additional support!

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there! 💜

Today, we come together to honor the joy and laughter that fathers bring into our lives. We’re excited to share our recent commercial entitled "Dad Jokes", featuring a devoted adult son and his senior father, who is once again delighting us with his classic dad jokes, all thanks to the support of Senior Helpers.

Aging doesn’t mean losing the spark of joy; with the right support, our loved ones can continue to shine and share those special moments that bring us joy. At Senior Helpers, we are committed to empowering seniors to embrace their independence while enjoying life to the fullest. Our compassionate caregivers are dedicated to providing the personalized support that enables families to create lasting memories together.

What’s one of your favorite dad jokes that always brings a smile?

Investing in our caregivers means investing in the quality of care we provide. 💙

Yesterday, our team participated in an engaging training session led by our Registered Nurse, Tricia, focused on enhancing skills, building confidence, and ensuring the highest level of care for our clients.

Thank you, Tricia, for sharing your expertise and helping our caregivers continue to grow professionally. Together, we’re committed to delivering compassionate, exceptional care every day.

When a family member needs support, the people who love them often quietly take on more than anyone realizes.

There's a difference between being a caregiver and being a son, a daughter, or a spouse. One comes with checklists, worry, and the weight of being responsible for everything. The other comes with presence, connection, and the ability to just be there.

That's what the right support can give a family back.

"It took me a while to realize that I couldn't do everything myself — work, family and care for my dad. Thanks to Senior Helpers, I can manage everything and have peace of mind that dad is safe and cared for while I'm away from him. I marvel at how much the Helpers care about him — they are wonderful individuals."

If someone in your life is carrying more than they should, we'd love to help. 💙
