Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to speak about something I deeply believe in — a holistic approach to health.
For me, wellness is not just physical.
It’s mental.
It’s emotional.
It’s spiritual.
It’s financial.
It’s gaining support from the community and understanding how to use them in your health journey.
I have learned that you cannot separate the mind from the body, or the spirit from the brain. They are connected.
Taking care of my mental health — including the responsible use of medication — is not a lack of faith. It is wisdom. It allows me to think clearly, pray clearly, lead clearly, and live fully.
Medication doesn’t replace God.
It helps my brain function in a way that allows me to access God in a healthy way.
Therapy, prayer, exercise, emotional awareness, rest, community, and medical support all work together. That’s stewardship. That’s maturity. That’s wholeness.
Healing is not one-dimensional.
It is body.
It is mind.
It is spirit.
It is community.
And when those areas are in harmony, we don’t just survive — we thrive.
