As America approaches its 250th anniversary, resident Maryanne “Mame” Rauth is reflecting on a lifetime of witnessing history firsthand. From hearing about Amelia Earhart’s groundbreaking flight to the attack on Pearl Harbor and watching the moon landing, Maryanne’s story is a reminder of the resilience, strength, and perspective!

Our residents had a wonderful day visiting a local alpaca farm and getting up close with these gentle, fluffy friends! The got to feed and pet alpacas while also enjoying the beautiful countryside. There were smiles all around as our residents made new memories together.

Friendship bonding is done best on our porch!

We love seeing our gentleman residents who have become friends at our community spend time together! While all three of the gentleman pictured are Veterans, we salute them for their bravery, kindness, and connection to one another! They really are our "Three Amigos"!

As America prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday, we're honored to celebrate someone who has witnessed nearly half of our nation's history firsthand.

At 103 years young, Maryanne “Mame” Rauth has lived through some of America's most defining moments—from the Great Depression and World War II to the moon landing and beyond. A member of the "Greatest Generation," she helped support the war effort, built a business with her late husband, raised a family, and embraced every chapter of a life well lived.
Reflecting on more than a century of memories, Maryanne shared: “I have seen so many historic moments in my lifetime, and I have always felt grateful to have built a meaningful life in this country. It is something I never take for granted.”

As we look ahead to our nation's semiquincentennial, Maryanne's story reminds us that America's history is not only found in textbooks—it's carried in the lives, experiences, resilience, and wisdom of those who helped shape it.
