Aloha from St. Luke's!

We had an amazing time at our St. Luke's Resident Luau! Our community came together for a fantastic day filled with tropical vibes, bright smiles, and wonderful company.

From the colorful flower leis to the delicious treats, it was the perfect way to celebrate summer together. A huge thank you to all of our residents, and staff who made this island getaway so special! Check out some of our favorite moments from the day.

🐾 Introducing Elijah’s Adventures! 🐾

Meet Elijah, our "resident dog" in training and a beautiful new addition to the St. Luke's in the Desert family.

Elijah’s journey with us started through a special bond. His dad was a beloved resident here who recently passed away. In the true spirit of the St. Luke's community, our family adopted Elijah to ensure he always has a home filled with love.

Now, he is stepping into an exciting new role, and we invite you to follow along on his upcoming training, staff hangs, resident visits, and neighborhood outings!

Adventure #1: Spa Day & Sweet Treats

Today, Elijah had a major day out on the town!
First, he visited Infinite Pawsibilities for a fresh grooming session.
Next, he stopped by Bark ’N Berry for some well-deserved, post-grooming treats.

A huge thank you to Celena Santa Cruz, the wonderful owner of Bark ’N Berry, for spoiling our boy and welcoming him with open arms!

Elijah’s story is a beautiful reminder of the compassion, deep community, and extended sense of family that defines St. Luke’s. We can't wait to share more local businesses and community partners who join Elijah on his journey.

We are excited to announce the fresh faces brining renewed energy to St. Luke's in the Desert! Please join us in welcoming Karmen, St. Luke's new AL Administrator. Learn a bit more about Karmen in her own words below.

I began working with seniors while I was in college, but my passion for geriatric care started much earlier. As a child, I loved visiting my great-grandparents in their care home and saw firsthand how much a smile, a conversation, and genuine connection could brighten someone’s day and improve their quality of life.

Over the years, my career expanded into serving adults in congregate care settings across Arizona, where I remained deeply committed to the well-being of vulnerable individuals and communities. When the opportunity to join St. Luke’s in the Desert arose, I immediately felt drawn to its rich history, mission, and special sense of community.

Today, I feel truly at home at St. Luke’s, where I am grateful to use my years of experience and unique skill set to help enhance the lives of our residents and contribute to the continued excellence of this remarkable community.
