Depersonalization is a state where you feel disconnected from yourself, your body, or your lived experience. Many people describe it as feeling “far away,” “unreal,” or “like they’re watching life happen instead of living it.”
From a therapeutic lens, depersonalization is often connected to anxiety, trauma, stress, panic, burnout, or nervous system overwhelm. Sometimes the brain disconnects emotionally as a way to protect itself from distress.
From a spiritual lens, some people may experience this as feeling ungrounded, energetically disconnected, or emotionally distant during periods of deep healing or transformation.
Both perspectives remind us of the importance of grounding, nervous system regulation, rest, support, and reconnecting safely with the body.
Healing is not about forcing yourself to “snap out of it.” Healing is about creating enough safety within the mind, body, and spirit to slowly reconnect again. ✨
