Ask Bob is hitting the road! 🎤💙

For our very first community interview, Bob sat down with Amy from Arroyo Gardens to talk about what makes their community so special, what they value in their hospice and home health partners, and why communication and collaboration matter so much when caring for residents and their families.

At Arista, we believe the best care happens when everyone works together — the resident, their family, the community, and their care team. It was so great sitting down with Amy and hearing how much our philosophies align.

And this was just the beginning of our visit! We also got a tour of Arroyo Gardens AND experienced their dementia simulator… 👀 Those reels are coming next!

When someone you love stops eating, your first instinct may be to encourage them to eat — but in hospice, comfort comes first. 🤍

This week on Ask Bob, we’re talking about food, eating, and hospice care — why someone may stop eating, when it’s important to look for an underlying reason, and why sometimes it’s okay to simply let them enjoy the foods they do want.

And yes… if that means ice cream, cake, or pancakes with extra syrup, Bob approves. 😂🥞🍨

We take hospice seriously. Ourselves? Not so much. 🤣💙

Hospice is about showing up for people during some of life’s hardest moments and we’re incredibly proud of the care we provide. But behind that care is a team full of very real people who laugh together, support each other, and apparently have absolutely no problem being weird on the internet. 😂

Compassionate care and a little personality can absolutely coexist. 💙

Is hospice like a bird in a cage? 🤍

That was the question Bob received this week—and his answer might change the way you think about hospice.

Hospice isn’t about putting life on hold. It’s about managing pain and symptoms, providing support, and helping patients remain as comfortable and independent as safely possible.

Sometimes that means spending more time with family. Sometimes it’s getting out of bed and enjoying a favorite meal. And sometimes, as Bob shares, it’s even getting back out on the golf course. ⛳

A six-month hospice prognosis doesn’t mean someone only has six months to live, either. Patients are reevaluated and may continue receiving hospice care as long as they remain eligible.

Hospice isn’t the cage. Sometimes, comfort is what helps open the door. 🤍
