562 people. One zoo. A whole lot of joy. 🦒💛

On Saturday night, the Marana Health family took over Reid Park Zoo for our Whole Crew at the Zoo event, and it was everything we hoped it would be. 188 team members came out, and they brought 374 of their favorite people with them.

Kids, partners, parents, grandparents. The people who pack the lunches and hold down the fort and hear about the hard days. Because the truth is, when you get care at Marana Health, you're being cared for by people who have whole lives and whole families behind them.

Saturday was a chance to celebrate all of them.

Please join us in welcoming Chanel Swartz to the Marana Health team as our new Chief Integrations Officer!

Chanel brings over 20 years of healthcare leadership experience, and she comes to us as a nurse executive with an MBA. That means she understands care from the bedside and from the boardroom, which is exactly the kind of perspective that makes healthcare work better for patients.

In her new role, she'll focus on making sure our services connect seamlessly across all 11 of our locations, so every patient gets care that feels coordinated and complete.

Bonus: she's an Oro Valley local with two kids and three dogs.

Middle and high school students face real pressure, and many feel like they are the only one struggling. This session opens up an honest conversation and helps students, parents, caregivers, and community members learn how to support one another.

You will hear from a trained NAMI presenter, a young adult sharing their own story of recovery and hope, and there will be time for questions.

Our Family Medicine residents are already licensed doctors, deepening their expertise through one of the most rigorous training programs in medicine. This month, they spent time at the Arizona Simulation Technology and Education Center (ASTEC), sharpening their skills through hands-on procedural training and high-fidelity clinical simulation.

From outpatient procedures to complex clinical scenarios, this is how great physicians get even better. And it's happening right here in Southern Arizona.

As we wrap up National Health Center Week, we want to bring it back to our roots.

Marana Health has served Southern Arizona since 1957. In the decades since, we have grown from a single clinic into a network of 11 locations across Pima County, providing whole-person care to the families and individuals who need it most.

What that looks like in practice:
- 60,000 patients served each year
- 11 locations across Pima County
- Services spanning primary care, behavioral health, dental, pharmacy, pediatrics, specialty care, and more
- On-site pharmacy with significantly lower costs through the 340B federal savings program
- Care for every patient, regardless of ability to pay

We're proud to be a Federally Qualified Health Center. We're proud to be part of a national network that has been changing lives since 1965. And we are especially proud to be part of this community.

Part of what makes a Federally Qualified Health Center special is right there in the name. Federal.

FQHCs were born out of an act of Congress more than 60 years ago, grounded in the belief that every American deserves access to high-quality, affordable care regardless of where they live or what they can pay. And maintaining that promise requires something that doesn't always make headlines: ongoing relationships between community health centers and the elected officials who shape federal health policy.

Yesterday, during National Health Center Week, Congressman Juan Ciscomani visited Marana Health to learn firsthand about the work happening in our community, including a chance to meet our resident physicians who are training right here in Southern Arizona.

It was a meaningful opportunity to share our story, talk about the people we serve, and remind our elected officials what community health care looks like on the ground.

At Marana Health, we will always show up for those conversations. Because our patients deserve advocates, and advocacy starts with making sure the right people understand what is at stake.

Big news! Marana Health is welcoming Dr. Ocie Wilson as our new Chief Access Officer.

Dr. Wilson brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience, a PharmD from the University of Arizona, and a deep passion for making care more accessible for the communities we serve.

In his new role, he'll be focused on one thing above all else: making sure every patient can connect with the right care, at the right time, as smoothly as possible.
